Mate don't not renew your membership because of some idiots, I understand It can be down right terrifying when your an older gentlemen, But I'm sure there is other means of transport or ways to get to and from games safely. And It's unfair that a majority of people are made to feel unsafe by a small minority of mongrels. But I think I speak for everybody when I say we hope you continue to be a member and continue to surport our great club which you obviously love.

I reckon it wouldnt matter what team supporters they were, you fill trains after a footy match with any large number of supporters there will be a few idiots in the bunch, including ppl that just get edgy when confined in a space with lots of ppl. Best way to try and change it would to probably complain to the railways, about getting more guards on the fan trains after matches.

Look you have a game where there were over 20,000 bulldogs fans and they all leave the match at the same time. So there is a huge concentration of them for a short period. Odds are that even if only 1 in 100 fans was an idiot, there would be dozens of them on the trains in a window after the match. There will also be many more normal, polite bulldogs fans on the same train.

Dont think its a "club" problem. They could put train guards in every carriage for the trains that get fans from the game for a while after the match. That may help.
I agree that it is only a minority causing the trouble, but you have to see it to understand. I don't think that the club can do much as they have no juristiction on trains, and the govt. has just done away with transit police.

In future, I will drive to the games. That solves the problem for me. The problem is still there, though. It wasn't myself I was concerned about - it is the image this presents to other people on the train. We are all judged by what they saw. I can't get off that train and hold my head up as a proud Doggies supporter.

It just guts me.

I think this is something the club should do something about, eg. proactively engaging someone to identify the thugs and then making sure measures are put in place to try and prevent them from attending games.

Courts have the right to place restrictions on people from being in certain areas. eg. not allowed into a CBD area at certain times. and they can certainly be banned from attending games.

It would be in the clubs best interest to take more action to identify these thugs and hand that information to authorities who can take action. Won't be 100% effective, but there needs to be more of a deterrent.

They need to expand the P.O.R.S(riot squad) and have them roam like a gestapo strike force using heavy handed tactics to dimwits who deserve it.Australia is a beautiful country but the judicial system has failed law enforcement by not sending a clear message that if you comit a crime you will do the time.Civil libertarians are also guilty of watering down police powers to do what is required by drowning them with loads of paperwork after each arrest or use of force incident.Countries like Singapore have it right to the point that women can travel alone at night in safety, as crims know they will be dealt with accordingly and the cops will give you a beating(to a point) and they won't be investigated.Sadly a comonsense approach is not so common.

Regarding police on trains ... not that simple.

Now don't quote me on this, because I don't know the nitty-gritty details, but from what I understand train services transect the LAC (Local Area Command) boundaries, so 'idiots fans' becomes a multi-area problem. They wont just plonk cops from one area/station on a train and have them police it, because a few stops later they wind up outside their own LAC. - Therefore, the issue of 'idiot fans' has to be addressed at a higher level (perhaps a taskforce) ... and THAT way it's handled by ALL the relevant LAC's on the Bankstown train line.

And of course, 'they' will say this issue isn't 'big enough' to warrant that sort of intervention by police ... so it goes un-checked, apart from the few who get caught by the police within the LAC near ANZ stadium.

Interesting info Captain in that case a few specialist squads of transit officers would do the job.A team of 12 with 2 carrying a 9mm,1 TL with a taser and the rest for handcuffing.Sadly these thugs with a pack mentality only fear lethal or less than lethal force. But as we can all expect nothing will be done for the public's safety as the gov'ts are only interested in their pockets and accomodating assylum seekers

Last night's win was soured by my trip home on the train. The behaviour of our Bulldog fans made me sick to the core. They violently banged their fists and feet on the carriage panels, windows and doors. They ran up and down the aisles, pushing and shoving into passengers. Their language was obscene and foul - and broadcast at shouting level in a continuous, roaring din.

At no stage was their any excited talk about the game, just excitement over a fight, and the aggressive nature of their "fun". These were people looking for trouble.
And I'm not talking about a handful of thugs - I'm talking a trainload. Innocent passengers were terrified by the disgusting behaviour.

When I wear the Blue and White, I can't help but feel that I am seen in the same light as the thugs I wintness every time I travel to Olympic Park by train. It's enough to have me thinking that I shouldn't renew my membership next year. I can't take it any longer.
Travell by car from now on.. I just can't wait to go back to Belmore Stadium because its closer and local!!

There are dickhead supporters in every team, get the fu*k over it. After every game someone makes a thread about it.

Not defending the pricks but just sick of hearing about it

When taking the train from Olympic park, don't take the first one straight away, wait and take the next one that these guys aren't on. Yesterday I came back to the station from Maccas and didn't see any of these guys.

Hang around and have a beer, wait till the little c*cksuckers f*ck off. Doesn't fix the situation but it's easier on you.

Yeah I posted about my poor experience on the train last week and last night drove to the game. I found the getting in and out of the P1 carpark a breeze even with 30 odd thousand people there Even played the role of good Samaritan by helping a young Bulldog lady jump start her car after the match after she had a flat battery. Much better than sitting with my kids in a packed train listening to the foul language and bad behavior. Only cost me $12 as we couldn't get there for NYC. Cheaper than the train too!

And the minutes silence was for Alan Schwebel, past player who played 142 games for the Club, was also a Life Member and a former president of the Bulldogs Football Club.

I had a similar experience last night Chris. I caught the train for the first time in about 5 years last night so I could have a couple of beers with some mates. I'm a solid bloke in my 40's and I can look after myself but I felt quite intimidated last night on the trains. The pack mentality of some of these young blokes can be frightening, especially for families on the train.

I have to say that I found the general behaviour of people on the train (including the general public not going to the football) was quite atrocious. I sound like my Dad but these young blokes need a good kick up the arse. I certainly won't be in a hurry to catch the train to the football again. I'm a big advocate of using public transport but not when I feel like my personal safety is potentially at risk.

As others have mentioned Chris, renew your membership and drive to the games.
