Karl Oloapu

If its a simple case of one Dr says no and one says yes, i get him to play. Its so easy for a professional to err on side of caution in any job, the Dr who says its safe carries more weight imo . If that was the scenario
Rugby league won't be supported by doctors who aren't interested in sports, especially not the ones who don't focus on it.

I'm sure he went through a process that allows him to handle daily tasks and physical activities, like working outdoors and playing with kids. Otherwise, he'd be classified as disabled.

We all understand our body's limits and pain just as much as any doctor. It's about getting to a physical and mental state where you can train, perform, and test. However, safety is key, and everyone should take precautions against risks.

I'd say see how he trains and improves in training, track and compare the data, importantly see how he feels. It's a serious part of the body but it's "just" another surgery.

It shouldn't be complicated, Gus can simplify things pretty well but obviously it's either Dogs taking the conservative approach or him seeking better opportunity , or both.

Should be the back up half for the club, he either is fit or not fit, should get his chance at the end of the year and seems determined to play a part.

we don't need averillo anymore.....

fb is taken by tracey
centers are xerri and critta
halves are sexton and burton
No ....I didn't say Averillo would waltz straight back into first grade.
Hell of a back up 3/4 guy though.

We better be getting compensation from the Dolphins. I'm sick of players leaving us for nothing but whenever we want a player to break a contract, they don't release them or we need to give them a player in return.

Either way, it's disappointing that Oloapu didn't repay the club for giving him the opportunity in the first place and then helping him for two years through a scary injury and rehab etc. Players complain about the clubs being cut throat and rightly so, but contracts mean nothing these days and players can force their way out whenever they want too. Loyalty is dead from the clubs and the players.

yep firstly I wish the kid a complete recovery and success for his life and family but from limited information it looks shit go. Comes here with something like this undetected and we do the right thing for the kid and stand by his side to help and fleas home cause broncos won’t touch him the way he forced his way out of there.

Hope we actually said sure we will help that but we need the clubs to come to party to!

Good luck to the young bloke.
Provided his neck holds up he'll play a lot more NRL in the future.

We've been adequately compensated. We have roughly 250k extra on our salary cap and no longer carry the risk.

You could make that argument about any player being released when still under contract though. Other teams get compensation in the form of young players. If the Dolphins want Oloapu early, then we should demand the same. Otherwise they can wait til he's off contract and Oloapu can play Reserves with us til then.

Bostock in return

Bostock in return

They have a lot of good young players in their top 30 and coming through their juniors that we should be asking for as compensation.

The NRL model is fucked when players get released early for nothing in return. Clubs don't get compensated enough in these scenarios. It should either have to be a transfer fee or player (s) traded in return.

The club looked after him we paid 500k from the stupid GRONCOS did we see talent he can tackle yes but so can the rest of the team that’s why we are the best defensive side in the comp thank you!!!

Gus can say no you're not going or can make demands like the Broncos did.

It seems that Gus is clearing the decks and we did at one stage have too many in our Top 30 and not much room to move in the Development list.

Oloapu will be the 6th NRL or Development contracted player moved on following the four to Parramatta and Seve to Roosters.

Now we a spot in each

Feel like Gus is happy to see him go. Never spoke positively about the recovery from the moment it all happened.

Predicting we get sweet FA in return.

Kid has all the ability in the world so that is shit but can’t do much about it. Hope he goes well - but not well enough for the “HOW DID THE DOGS LET HIM GO” hysteria merchants to go off.

At least say “yep we weren’t comfortable clearing him to play at our club - they thought otherwise. Best of luck to both parties”
