OFFICIAL | PRE-GAME Bulldogs vs Dragons @ jubilee stadium - 8th March 5.30pm

But what you have to realise is he is basically a rookie, and a rookie that hasnt even been playing!?!?!

Rookies who come into other teams are atleast playing NSW cup for years, Xerri was doing nothing lol

He had a great tbh
yea he was good but no where near as dynamic in attack as his rookie year

God lord surely the critta comment is satire?
Depends what your definition is, he won us the Canberra game on his own but his game is built on being the best defensive back in the league rather than running over or through his opposing man

Yeah i know, but its because hes been out for four years lol

His rookie year he was playing league the year prior in the grades or NSW cup.

For us? He was on instagram for four years smashing weights lol, so of course he wouldnt be anything close to what he was.

I think people shouldnt forget that losing four years development is huge. No player, let alone a rookie, is having four years off and coming back the same.

You think?

I dont think we have a half that can do anything close to what Cleary can do.
Pfft, they aren't that good anymore. Cleary will be broken again by the time we play them ! The Broncos will carve them up !

I still think the Panthers are top tier but have come down a peg or two, I could be completely wrong but time will tell.

Cronulla got help across the park, let’s see how they do against the other teams.
I reckon, based on that . . . We can beat both of them tbh

Agree that hes definitely better defensively. Although I feel he did enough brilliant things in attack last year to qualify as strike.

The combined 2 games score last season against the Dargons was 72 to 22, of which Lomax scored 10 plus their most run meters and he's not there this year. Hunt had 2 try assists and he's not there this year either. They are far greater losses than ours.

The big thing for me is we have had a full preseason together, training in the positions that we will be playing. We didn't have that last year. Plus we have had a full season playing together, which again we didn't have for almost the first half of last season. Then add in the number of NRL games experience that we added to each player last season. For example Xerri had 0 for 4 years, now he has a full season. Hughes had 5 NRL games, now he has 30. Sexton while playing with us has doubled his NRL games experience and Wilson now has over 20 NRL games. Hays had zero NRL experience last season. Crichton, last year was his first with us and first as Captain.

I expect a big lift in the team working together and the NRL games experience gained last season should also make huge difference.

Team Work

We'll see what happens next weekend. I'm expecting a tough game but hopefully we get the win

I think the biggest problem with Xerri is that he doesn't have the tackle busting or speed for an elite centre, you need to be one of the 2, but hopefully develops more this year, i think he did well for his first year back.. Remember he had only played 22 games and that was 4 years ago, he needs time.

Something I noticed that would infuriate me however, was that he always runs the ball diagonally to the corner and cuts his winger off, does my head in, he needs to either run straight of go off his left foot more.

People dont seem to realise the difference between NRL and NSW Cup. The intensity in NRL is immense.
Jack Todd is a very promising player, but he has only shown that ability playing mostly against boys.
I dont think he is ready for NRL, especially when there is more senior players available.
He would not let anyone down and may slot in if there are injuries.

How do you know if you don't give him a chance?

Question - Who else does what he can do ?

Just give the guy 30 minutes in NRL and let HIM show US.

What better time than now??

No Curran or Sitili?

CC would probs surround him with 3 workers on the bench .. Hayward, Salmon & Morrin.

(Zyon, Harry and Amone must be a big chance too) - less creativity than Todd - but all offer their own special talents.

If I was choosing the team (for round 1), this would be my selection dilemma...
  • Hayward or Tia
  • Salmon or Todd
  • and choose 2 from ...Morrin, Zyon, Amone and Harry.
Whoever you choose in the first 2, will influence who you chose for the last 2 spots.

i.e. - Hayward & Salmon - good defensively
If you chose Tia & Todd, you'd probably want Harry and Morrin there to solidify your defence.

Look ...it's great to have serious options - instead of Patolo and Knight.

Hopefully, Curran and Sitili are back real soon.

Doesn't stop my push for Todd (neither of them can do what he does).

I just saw highlights and a i saw was Cleary and Trindall bamboozling the 2 defenders nearest to them.

These guys play eyes up footy that our halves would only ever dream of.

Going to be a lot of spite in this game, I hope we put a lot of pressure on flange Jnr and our pack looks to smash the cahunt every time he has the ball in his hands. Dirty biting little cocksucker. It will be close but I think we’ll get the win.

Fk him and his dad

Match him? Bro, they absolutely cook him lmao. Xerri is a slug, couldn't accelerate through a gap or skip around a defender to save his life last season.
Gotta admit Xerri did look slow, which is kind of surprising considering the pre season reports from sprint coach Roger Fabri which claimed Xerri to be running the 100m at around the 11 second mark
