OFFICIAL | PRE-GAME Bulldogs vs Dragons @ jubilee stadium - 8th March 5.30pm

A question re Hayes or any players in fact.

Is on field performance enough? How many 'great games' makes someone undroppable?

Or do they need to show the same commitment and attitude at training? And away from the field?

I actually do get why people are questioning Hayes apparently being dropped as he was pretty damn good on the weekend.

But do we know the whole story? Do we know what he's been like in training since?

It's being made out it's the simplest of choices but I honestly don't agree.
its simple whoever gives ciraldo the best head gets picked.
clearly salmon and hayward are professionals

You need to open your eyes
Tia is thick and possesses massive shoulders
Todd is tall and lanky and needs to put kilos on
Ur definition of big is of kindergarten level
Just cause he’s got musclier shoulders doesn’t mean anything “hes thick” lol. And I’m the kindergarten one.

Todd is literally taller and heavier….if that’s not a clear factual definition of bigger then your eye test take my word for it then I don’t know what is.

Interesting points gents!

Both Todd and Tia knocking on the door of NRL selection.

For mine - (opinion only ....and I am a huge fan of both these players because they have footy IQ & skills that most others don't).

What do each of them need to do to make that transition to NRL?

I know what I think.

But more interested to hear the Kennel's suggestions on our two most promising ball players ....moving forward.

Please share what you feel each of them need to do to improve and crack NRL???

just to clarify my point was that Todd is bigger not that he’s better or worse then Tia.

Anyways I think Todd is NRL ready to play a role off the bench and with time move into our lock full time .
He’s doesn’t seem to full sprint his way into the line but seems to always make good metres and some post contacts too so he must be a little deceptively strong. Work rate good and his bull playing is really good.

Tia looks the good in small stints cause he’s not getting starts in either trials or the cup games yet. He looks great in small sample size though, I would definately be starting him this week he’s out performed all the halves in cup so he should be starting. Then allow him and see whether he can keep going and put pressure on our top 2 halves

Yes attitude at training is important generally.

If how players train is CC’s total model on who gets picked we are screwed.

You pick the best 17 to win every fucking game. I went to a few training sessions over the offseason and nobody trains harder than Salmon. That doesn’t mean he just gets selected in my view.

If he is deemed in the 17 best players at the club to win the game on any given weekend. He gets picked. All players train hard at NRL level. If they don’t they fade away and don’t make it. To suggest that Salmon wins a spot over someone like Hayes because he trains harder. Is just poor judgment with selection wanting to win every week.

Dragons fan who allegedly threw meat pie at Bulldogs supporter at NRL game set to front court
There have been repercussions for a man who allegedly threw a meat pie at a rival supporter during an NRL match in Sydney.

A man who allegedly threw a meat pie at a rival NRL supporter during Saturday’s clash between the Dragons and Bulldogs is set to front court.
Video footage of the incident captured a Dragons fan throwing a meat pie at a Bulldogs supporter at Saturday’s NRL match at Kogarah Oval in Sydney’s south.
The Bulldogs supporter was later captured walking up to the camera asking “What are you taking a video of? Me getting hit?” before police talk to a man in a Dragons jersey.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said a pie was believed to have “struck several people” at the match on Saturday.
“Police officers patrolling the stadium were alerted to the incident on the eastern side of the general seating area,” the spokeswoman said.
“No injuries were reported; however, the pie is believed to have struck several people.”
The St George Illawarra club slammed the move in a statement issued on Sunday afternoon.
“The Dragons condemn any such behaviour in the strongest terms and will assist the NRL in relation to any breaches of the NRL Spectator Code of Conduct,” the statement read.
“The Dragons would like to sincerely apologise to the Bulldogs fan impacted by the incident.

“We will work with the Bulldogs to contact the fan and pass on our apologies directly.”

The statement said the club wanted all fans “both home and away” to feel safe at games.

“Any behaviour that causes others not to feel safe will be acted upon,” the statement continued.

“The Dragons would also like to stress that the behaviour of one individual should not detract from what was overall a very respectful sellout crowd with fans of both clubs supporting the match in a great spirit.”

The NRL has issued a notice of intention to ban the alleged pie thrower under the spectator code of conduct.

A 26-year-old man was issued a court attendance notice for common assault and behave in an offensive manner in a public place about 4pm on Monday.

The man is set to front Sutherland Local Court on April 15.

Eat a pie full of dicks, bitch.

They need to throw the book at this guy.

I think he should be forced to go to every Dargon's game this year.

If that doesn't teach him a lesson, I'm afraid there's not much hope for him.
They need to throw the book and a pie at him for good measure!
