OFFICIAL | PRE-GAME Bulldogs vs Dragons @ jubilee stadium - 8th March 5.30pm

Gotta admit Xerri did look slow, which is kind of surprising considering the pre season reports from sprint coach Roger Fabri which claimed Xerri to be running the 100m at around the 11 second mark
Fabri is full of shit, not to mention there's a difference between doing a 100m sprint and running in a game of league. People forget how fast he actually was and right now he isn't remotely close to it.

Easy to run 100, not so easy when you have to do it after repeated defensive efforts. Usain Bolt would Have killed it otherwise. The Fox could run, but a lot of things he couldn't do. Not long now Critta and it's game on for real !

Our centres are fine.. critta is one of the best in the game, and xerri is decent enough/okay. As for our wingers, a pairing of Wilson and kiraz is definitely good enough.. but with Kiraz out, there's a massive drop (for now, until our younger ones are up to scratch). We can't expect to have world class players at every position.

Xerri has come back as a decent yardage centre with good footwork at the line to not get dominated and decent defence… that’s about it for now. Far from a strike centre and if we are being brutally honest Critta isn’t that either. Serious lack of strike power in our backs.
Critta not a strike centre ? We have gotten greedy

People are obsessed with "big boppers" and "strike centres" on here lol.

Last years GF centres
Isacc Tago- Slow
Paul Alamoti- Slower than a wet week
Howarth- Slow
Nick Meany- Fast, but guess who torched him in a game on the outside with footwork and speed? Xerri lol

Oir centres are fine.

Need the halves to pull finger tbh, give them good ball

They're all more powerful ball runners, have better footwork, offload, etc. We are boring as fuck.

Then where’s the complaining about Critta? Bloke is slower than you and got run down by a bloke my age in Origin with a head start lol
I said he was slow before we signed him and everyone cried. He does have the ability to beat his man though, not as well as other top centres in the game.

I still dont see the hype of alamoti tbh is till see him as a nsw cup player
Agree. Dick fingers Alamoti lost the ball with 1 min left and somehow got the call of no knock on!

He's still young bro so he's going to be rocks and diamonds. But he's shown he's got massive strength for his age.

I feel like he has grown at penrith but i do agree, listening to Pennis saying shit like "grandfinal star" does my head in, like everything else he says..
He has done nothing special and is a solid fill in at best.

yes Alomati has, alot of potential but he looks good in the panthers system because of the quality players, around him. Cleary and Yeo provide early ball and space for him. It's up to Sexton and Burton to provide quality ball to our outside backs

it's clear,we haven't spent much on our backline except for Crighton and Burton which is fine but what I don't understand is how do teams like the broncs and sharks have star studded backlines and still have money to spend on quality forwards...we still must have alot of money to spend in our, salary cap and hopefully we are saving it for some elite players. Surely we can sign players like Stonesteet who won't cost the earth

Centres isn’t where the elite teams spend their cap. Panthers have proven this. The spine and wingers are way more important these days. Especially with the 6 again. Most elite props aren’t running 180m a game anymore. They get 100-130 but make 30 tackles and miss almost none. The yardage is with the outside backs.

If you have a good 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 13. And you have handy mobile forwards that can tackle all day and win the ruck. Then have maybe 1 out and out wrecking ball (think olakautu or kiks).

Todd does look like a good 13 of the future. Big body. Great hands, looks like he can tackle all day long and play 70 mins.
