*Training Today* ---Putting an End to all Rumours

Can't be any worse than Lolesi and it is far better having Lolesi on the wing or in the centres than some of the other options.
  4. S

    Luke Young?

So I take it that it was Kauffman and not Luke Young? Doesn't really make much difference IMO, they are both good prospects and both capable of covering the halves as well. Kauffman is looking like a very promising option if Sherwin continues to struggle with form/injury.
  5. S

    Luke Young?

I was suprised Folkes didn't move Young up to Fullback as soon as El Masri was out. Very confident of a good win over Parra now. Parra have a debutant at Fullback as well in Joel Reddy, son of "Rocket" Reddy, a very handy player in his own right. Has a lot of potential.

    Why we won't win

Anasta, Ryan and Maitua are capable of putting points on the board, but the whole team is going to need to lift to show some of the true Dogs spirit....

Some of the peformances by members of the Kennel after a loss have been quite sickening....

Im Going To Open a Can of Worms.........

I'd rather support the team than having a sook. Booing the players isn't going to do anything about the injuries that have seen players out of position, out of condition, out of form and looks to have the side heading out of contention this year. Even if we do get players back the season...

    Dogs Defence

Richter thinks defence is decoloured thing that seperates defield from destands. Phelps is an excellent defender, he has good technique, a high work rate in defence, communicates well and reads the play well. He's not normally a winger, but hopefully his positional play is better than Richter's.
  11. S

    McIlwain in the centres???

McIlwain in the centres with Phelps on the wing is an entirely different prospect to last week. Phelps is an excellent defender and the communication should be a lot a better with him there rather than Richter. It's a lot easier to defend in the centres if the winger does his job. Lolesi...

LOL....Cronulla fans are rejoicing, don't give him an opportunity until it's too late and then when he's gone blood him for his new team.

    OFFICIAL Injury Update

We don't need Williams yet, but it would be a massive boost. We need one of Patten, Cutler or El Masri. All three would be fantastic, but Patten on his own will be enough to steady the ship next week.
  15. S

Cameron Ciraldo a Dog in 06'

He was on stand-by for Sam Isemonger (who ended up playing) on the weekend, so we may get to see him get a run this year.
  16. S

    Your team vs Knights

I agree. Lolesi always puts in a good effort, but a fullback he is not. Richter is a gamble that could pay off, he can put points on the board, but may let through more. Having Lolesi at fullback and Richter on the wing is just too much of a liability to carry. If we have to bring Barry...

    What a di*khead..............

    Next Home Game

They might not be true supporters, but they are identified as Bulldogs supporters none the less. Pleading innocence isn't going change peoples attitude towards Dogs supporters in general. Unfortunately all Dogs fans are going to be slurred by these actions, as unfair as that is. Instead...

    Next Home Game

As if not admitting to the problem is going to stop the media from sensationalising the problem. I understand the frustration at the media, but simply complaining about that isn't going to help. Unless the club and the true supporters speak out loud and clear about the extent of this problem...
  29. S

    Next Home Game

Playing the victim isn't going to achieve anything. There is an element that attends Bulldogs games who identify themselves as Bulldog fans (although they certainly do not deserve to be called supporters) who go to the game to cause trouble. In this case they have deliberately tried to have...

    Ranch Dressing

LOL.....No, there's no use getting stressed dogzrule. It's interesting looking at what options there are though, next week we may have to find ANOTHER fullback. We all know who to blame for that....
  31. S

    Ranch Dressing

That would be an interesting move, Kauffman's certainly got a bright future......like you said, we'll just have to wait and see. Damn Folkes.
  32. S

    Ranch Dressing

I was more suggesting that Kauffman could be moved to half back in Premier Leauge with Luke Young either covering Nathan Barry if he steps up or stepping up himself to fullback in the top grade.
  33. S

    Ranch Dressing

Ranch Dressing has been pretty reliable for you Tank, but Kauffman on an extended bench for Premier League still makes me wonder. Maybe someone has noticed the sauce bottle has been leaking.....damn Folkes and his mind games.
  34. S

Kill to birds with one stone...

Sorry Habib, there wasn't any need for me to point that out then...LOL
  35. S

Roosters signed Anasta on June 16/Salary Cap

It will be interesting to see what comes of the NRL looking into Orford's deal. The role of player managers is sure to come under scrutiny and the irony is, it may well be the much maligned managers being dirty on each other that blows this wide open and exposes a number of clubs dealings...

There's probably a good chance of him grabbing a try on debut, but the mistake free game might be another story. Lipina Kaifusi / Jackson Kaifusi / Makasini Richter.... Hodges will be glad to see Tonga isn't there, but I can't wait to see Maitua brushing past him for his hat-trick tommorrow.
  45. S

Leon Bott likely to be kicked out of Fridays Game

Tate definitely is a winger, apart from his defence he is not really suited to centre. He's a good finisher, but he has very poor passing skills. Other players throw speculators, but Tate's trademark is the "spectator". That's where he throws it 5 rows into the grandstand when the winger...

Conn also has a hand injury that would probably have kept him out this week. Maitua and Phelps is a very strong centre combination, defensively it is the strongest combination the Dogs have named this season. With the form Maitua is in, if Phelps breaks the shackles this could prove to be...

    Souths Chasing Grimaldi

I'll let everyone know if I do hear anything of real substance, but I'm not real keen to say too much on what I've been told. I'll sit on it for a bit in case there's not much in it, but it may go some way to explaining why so many players are rejecting big offers and exisiting players are...

    Souths Chasing Grimaldi

LOL....shhhhh Souths fans could be in for a very rough time if what I've heard is true.....we may not be saying goodbye to the bye when the Gold Coast are welcomed into the comp.
  52. S

    Souths Chasing Grimaldi

Well the player involved was picked up by the Dragons, if that helps.
  53. S

    Souths Chasing Grimaldi

There is a good reason, apart from their position on the ladder over many seasons, why players should steer well clear of Souths. When a former Dogs player was seeking a release from Souths this season he was intially told there was no way they would release him. Another players manager...

As the season draws closer to an end

Player: Asotasi, Anasta and El Masri should all be in the running so far Rookie: Nate Myles (if not for injury Nate would have been a strong contender for NRL Rookie of the Year with Tim Smith and Leon Bott)
  55. S

Canterbury could make the top 4

The troops are returning and not a moment too soon, but the Dogs really need to settle down and just concentrate on completing sets. Asotasi deserves full credit for his efforts this year, without him the Dogs would not be in a position to push towards the finals. He has been guilty of...
  56. S

    Go shifty!!

Sherwin needs to take risks, he is the one who can provide the real creativity and unless he chances his hand the Dogs will be all to predictible. Unfortunately with his confidence so low things just haven't been bouncing his way, but it is a lot more positive now than earlier in the season...

Bulldogs Dont Want To Make The Finals!

It seemed there was more that motivated you to post this thread than just expressing how much you were hurting after the game?
  59. S

Bulldogs Dont Want To Make The Finals!

LOL....touche? Good luck with your plan to fire the boys up, but if the Dogs are relying on you to come onto this forum to spark them into action then the season is as good as over.
  60. S

Bulldogs Dont Want To Make The Finals!

No, it's more like ......"Do you bend over like a b****, because you sure do whinge like one" (I'd insert one of those winking emoticons here if I could be bothered figuring out how)
  61. S

Bulldogs Dont Want To Make The Finals!

This is already biting you on the ass.........show a bit of dignity and pull your pants up. For everyone's sake.
  62. S

Bulldogs Dont Want To Make The Finals!

Like I said in another thread.....I think it came down to trying too hard. Even Asotasi was trying to throw miracle balls that just weren't on. The side just needs to settle down and go out to complete their sets. They gave the game to the Storm, but apart from the final 10 minutes or...

    Should sherwin be dropped

The problem seemed to be trying too hard, there were far too many passes pushed on early tackles. It was worrying that some players really dropped their heads late in the game. This is where Price's leadership is really missed, someone needed to calm it down and just focus on completing the...
  65. S

    Sherwin

Hopefully Sherwin can sort out his troubles off the paddock, because it's having a real impact on his on-field performances. The sooner Sherwin is back at his best, the sooner the Dogs defence will be back on track. It might not have come off, but at least the optional restart shows he is...

I think I can help explain.. It seems Wiedler got mixed up when he heard there were rumours going around about "Shifty" and "trouble with the Dogs"........ Hi, my name is Shifty and I have a gambling problem......It's a relief to get this all out in the open.

It is official that the Dogs have put an offer to him.
  70. S

    When Tonga Returns....

Hopefully Lolesi decides to stay, it's great to have Phelps putting this sort of pressure on Tonga and Lolesi. Goes to show that Harris was not leaving the club as short as many tried to suggest.
  71. S

All Anasta threads merged in here

Shuan Berrigan has already re-signed with the Broncos.
  72. S

    When Tonga Returns....

I'm not saying that Lolesi has been playing badly or deserves to be dropped, it's just that IMO Phelps has been playing equally as good (even if he's been quiet in attack). If you can't seperate two players on form, I'd pick a young player who will be here next year over one who is moving...

All Anasta threads merged in here

Wouldn't be suprised to hear more about Grimaldi's plans for retirement shortly, especially if there is a chance of retaining Anasta.
  74. S

    When Tonga Returns....

So Tonga should be playing PL when he comes back? Phelps has been solid, the defence in the backline has looked so much stronger with him there........... If Lolesi isn't going to be here, then drop him for Tonga. If Lolesi is staying then maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to let Tonga...

  79. S

nate myles in the mix for bench spot with queensland

Fitness would be the only obstacle, but off the bench he would provide real impact for Queensland forwards. Myles has already proven himself with O'Meley, Mason, Williams and co missing. Right from his debut he has shown that he is ready to shoulder the workload when the going gets tough...

    2005 Dogs Vs .......

I've never rated him that highly, but the impact Widders has provided off the bench has been awesome this year, he has provided the Eels with crucial points in many of their games. He delivers when it counts the most. I don't think Parra fans are going to be too upset if they don't see any...
  82. S

    2005 Dogs Vs .......

Broncos Parra could well come in to it though, they have a good forward pack, their halves have a good combination and are in top form and they have the X-factor off the bench in Widders.
  83. S

    Shifty...

The difference in the enthusiasm in the side with O'Meley back was incredible. Everyone lifted and even if the execution was off at times, Sherwin was trying things that have been missing so far this season. The mistakes were disappointing, but it's a sign that he is chancing his hand. With...

    corey payne?

Don't think we need to look either, Nugget is a champ, Daniel Irvine is sitting in Premier League and Marty Mitchell is coming along. Just trying to highlight that there would be better value targets that Aaron Payne, as good a player as he is.
  87. S

    Jamie Frizzo

Anyone got any updates on his injury or any idea on when he could possibly be back?
  88. S

    Corey Hughes?????

I hope both Corey and Braith learn to leave the majority of the kicking duties to Sherwin. Braith did the perfect job in Origin 2, he left most of the playmaking to Johns and concentrated on taking pressure off him. A couple of times he made valuable metres on tackle 4, giving Johns field...
  89. S

    corey payne?

Nathan Friend from the Storm might be worth looking at. He has done very well whenever Cam Smith has been out of the side. He's not established in the first grade either, Aaron Payne would be asking more than the Dogs can afford with other priorities. The Cowboys also have a hooker in...

  91. S

    corey payne?

His discipline is the biggest worry. He was signed by the Dragons from the Bulldogs and made his debut in Round 1 against the Dogs. The Dogs would have the makings of a very imposing pack for the future with the likes of Myles, Williams, Conn and Payne.

    Anti-tampering!

If it's not a technical breach, it certainly is a loophole that the NRL will be looking to close. The issue of player managers and the role they play in all this is also going to come under scrutiny. Would be suprised if Souths don't hear from Gallop over this. It's a clear attempt to...
