News Sam Kerr doesn't like white fellas

"In the dock, Kerr, who is mixed race, argued her “stupid and white” comment did not amount to racial aggravation. She denied using “whiteness as an insult”.

“I believed it was him using his power and privilege over me because he was accusing me of being something.

“I was trying to express that due to the power and privilege they had, they would never have to understand what we had just gone through and the fear we were having for our lives.”

Ms Kerr said she was not saying the policeman was stupid “because he was white”."

What a crock of shit. You were drunk, you were angry and entitled. You used white to offend him.

Absolutely .. and any power he is exerting over you is because his job is to enforce the law, not because of the colour of his skin. There are police who come from all kinds of backgrounds, not all were privileged. It's not like she was being questioned by a member if the royal family. She stereotyped him because of his skin colour, his job and her thoughts including how she think he must think about her.

Whether it was racist or not, cops (everyone) don't deserve to be spoken too like that.

She proved that she is an entitled bitch.
And the jury decided that he was WAS a stupid white person.

What a joke.

Playing all the cards to get off what clearly is racist behaviour.

She may have gotten way with this but it does not change the fact that she is a dirty pathetic little c**t.

We've all said or done stupid things when drunk. Owning up to it being shithouse behaviour is being an adult. Sportspeople especially high profile ones, seem like they've never had to face consequences. And to a huge extent these stupid things don't hit people who aren't in the public eye nearly as hard. But I'd have far more respect for people in the public eye if they didn't try to sculpt a halo out if it when they get themselves in shit.

She wasn't making a racial comment by referring to his race..ok
Some items of interest;

Geoffrey Robertson, a human rights barrister and author who served as a judge in London, wrote that “questions must be asked about whether it should have taken place at all”. “It arose from an incident that could cause no public danger or alarm, as two distressed young women argued with three male police officers in the safe confines of a police station,”

In Kerr’s case, her use of the word “white” brought a racial element to her behaviour, but for police and the prosecution to conclude it was therefore racist is deeply flawed .... academics and the former British judge say.

Mario Peucher, a principal research fellow at Victoria University, said ‘racial’ is not the same as ‘racist’. The scholarly definition is “that racism equals power plus prejudice”. Laws in the UK were first introduced with the intention of “enhancing the legal protections for those who were considered vulnerable to racism”. Dr Peucher questioned whether a white male policeman was the vulnerable party in this case. “It is difficult to imagine a person on the streets of London with more institutional power than a white police officer,” Dr Peucher said.

The court heard Lovell had acted in an antagonising manner by dismissing Kerr and fiance Kristie Mewis’ claims they were fearful of the taxi driver who brought them to the station. Lovell has also referred to the footballer as “little missy” and scoffed at her as she tried to explain her behaviour.

Labelling the incident as racist is clearly not in line with what racism means.

And the jury agreed.

Glad the right verdict was made. Made the cops look rightly stupid. Whilst what happened in the cab was shite (but separate issue), the "racial" thing was a horrific waste of police and court resources. Would you want your police this sensitive?

You can bet, er, London to a brick that many going at her on the internet (like those who have their car at the their profile pic) would be the first to shout "snowflakes" when someone is offended, complaining about how sensitive we all are nowadays. The fucking irony.

Funny story, this actually has some parallels to personal experience i had a few years ago, in Macau of all places (it involved vomit, a psycho cabbie and a kidnapping), and the cops there were bloody brilliant and level headed (I didn't call them "yellow and stupid" mind). Not sure if i've shared that one here before.

Geoffrey Robertson comes across as a bit of a pompous wanker (show me a KC who isn't), but he's definitely one smart guy who knows the law.

She is an entitled brat. Plays all cards of victimhood. Pathetic and typical rich girl

Why mention his race at all? What drunken fruit loop message were you trying to convey rather than an insulting derogatory one.
