OFFICIAL | POST-GAME Round 9 | Post game | Bulldogs vs Tigers

It is frankly disgusting, she actually made plenty of good calls. I was worried going into the game after last round, but objectively she did well relative to the average ref performance. What's more we won, we didn't cop any terrible calls except for the one by Sutton, and it was the Tigers that blew up and rightfully got sat down by the ref.

The only reason for anyone to go off at the ref is because she is a she, and any blokes engaged in that kind of bias need to grow up.
Some of the sexist language and terms used today on here were disgraaceful and it was clear, by the terms used, it was misogynistic and not based on the refs competency, rather her sex instead. We've had much worse ref performances than that and those thug posters on here did not talk about refs in such sexist harmful insults in the same way.

It's very poor to have the Bulldogs club represented like that on a public forum such as this site and I'm glad some have called it out. More need too.

Especially when aggressive male behaviour towards women is in such high prominence this week. What kind of example is being displayed on here for youngsters who read this hateful language....your sons. Your daughters and wives.

Got to be better.

- Taaffe still stifles our attack similar to trial / early round form. Affects the shifts and doesn't get sets started properly enough (runs sideways or passes off to momentum-less Kiraz/Fox). Grateful he didn't drop catches, but seriously thank fuck we got Tracey during the off season to be our regular fullback
- Our attack actually looked very good at the very beginning of the game and we created a few try scoring chances but were a bit too impatient (Kiraz offload -> intercept on ~play 2
- Immediately after this the ref got involved... and massacred the flow of the game. Howlers on both sides, no feel for the game, and it affected us more as we were stopped from playing our usual territory-domination-style game, made us look ordinary, and allowed them to artificially play faster, dominate territory, and keep us under pressure
- Our completion rate was so good (>90%)
- We started the second half exactly how we needed to, and out enthused the Tigers. With minimal ref interference we were able to play our natural game, which means dominating territory and earning back the lead
- The sin bins and chaos at the end will shape the narrative of Tigers getting unlucky and disadvantaged by the refs, but it was what helped them get their points in the first place, and they avoided sin bins earlier on that they probably shouldn't have (that Sezer hip drop ffs)
- We found a way to win within so much adversity, whack refereeing, and after being down 8 - 0 and then 14 - 6. It's been so long since it's felt like we can play our way back into games and we fucking proved it against a time we desperately couldn't afford to lose to
- Another 2 points and back in the 8, let's gooooooo - now time to go browse the Tigers forum :tearsofjoy:

I'm just glad Kasey didn't decide the outcome. Some bad calls sure, but going in I thought she'd decide the winner.. those sin bins were both fair though, and while some might say Mahoney should have gone, they rarely bin players for coming in anymore.

Every call is the refs call?
The bunker makes calls on events the ref misses.
Go back and look at all of the hip drop sin bins so far this season, they've all been checked by the bunker and the on field ref relies on the bunker ref to tell them what action to take. Same thing happened here, no different to what is standard.

It was a risk to play him, didnt need to take the risk in the end as we were way on top.
Why not have a benchie you feel confident enough to use tho \_(ツ)_/¯

I rated him big time as a signing, he just never really got an extended run due to injury or players ahead of him.
Yeah I just never noticed him until he played with us , he was at the sharks?

I forgot to say that any win from a refereeing shitshow like that should be applauded. The ref was out of her depth and let the Tigs carry on for so long, it ended up with them pushing her over the edge a d the crap that happened before the sin bins. The way she let Bateman talk to her was the main issue.
Yeah I’m not sure I agree. There has been a bit said about Casey’s officiating on the forum. I think she’s clear and she calls out the grubby stuff. She’s probably not ready for origin but she’s far from the worst ref in the comp.

Yeah I just never noticed him until he played with us , he was at the sharks?
And bunnies before that, though was a sharks junior, always looked like a player with footy smarts, still hasn't hit 100 NRL games at 27 years of age, mostly due to injury, but also very underrated.

Yeah I just never noticed him until he played with us , he was at the sharks?
Yup, usually filled in at centre/wing whenever a starter went down. Eventually forced Talakai out of centre and then got a run at fullback when Kennedy went down and could've easily retained the position when Kennedy was fit. He was originally a halfback at Souths years ago.

casey badger, what can be said about her performance tonight, should remain unsaid, the officials should have seen if for themselves and demote her back to reserve grade for the next month, same goes for the touchies

JAC was poor today, you’d think he’d be fresh after a week off early in the season but he just looks knackered. Possibly carrying a niggle, I am guessing his shoulder is still a bit busted.
Jac has always been ordinary coming out of our own end, but he seems to be getting worse I thought when he beefed up in the offseason he would be better but it’s been the opposite. It’s been smothered a bit with Tracy at FB but it’s really noticeable with Taffe back there .
