Positives for me today:
- Winning ugly. Opposite of the Roosters game, ordinary first half but switched on in the second. In previous seasons we lose that game by a lot.
- Kikau. I will keep saying it, we are so fortunate to have him at the peak of his career, he is essentially a perfect footballer, there are no weaknesses in his game whatsoever.
- Burton owned it today, watching him burn Sezer was a thing of beauty.
- Crichton’s best game for us I reckon.
- I love Josh Curran with the fire of a thousand suns.

Yup, usually filled in at centre/wing whenever a starter went down. Eventually forced Talakai out of centre and then got a run at fullback when Kennedy went down and could've easily retained the position when Kennedy was fit. He was originally a halfback at Souths years ago.
Wonder why they shifted him from HB? Speed, vision footwork he’s got it all.

Jac has always been ordinary coming out of our own end, but he seems to be getting worse I thought when he beefed up in the offseason he would be better but it’s been the opposite. It’s been smothered a bit with Tracy at FB but it’s really noticeable with Taffe back there .
It’s definitely not his strength. We‘re lucky this year that we don’t really need any yardage metres from him, Tracy/Xerri/Critta/Kiraz give us plenty. JAC should keep himself out of yardage so he’s ready in attack.

I think we are no longer a cellar dweller, and probably a solid mid-table competitor. Still work to be done to be a top tier team again. But it's definitely heading in the right direction.

Fill in a couple of weak areas and continue to develop... and we can look forward top regular top 8, and top 4... where a club of this magnitude should always be.

I made a similar comment in the game thread, she is no where near being in the best 8 NRL referees available to ref 1st grade.

If she is seriously good enough and better than all the other men (or woman) then good luck to her, she deserves it. But she is nowhere near it.
She was noticeably poor last round, I think it was the cows game? But today wasn't a bad one, you expect some errors from the ref every game, and putting those aside she managed things quite well. She had David Klemmer in one ear on the ground, and Gerard Sutton in her other ear from the bunker, all game. Too bad she could only send one of them to the bin.

Yeah I don’t know so much having wingers that provide yardage coming out of your own end is almost an imperative in today’s game, you can’t afford to carry wingers just to score try’s like the old days. Wingers like To’o , Coates etc that regularly run over 200 meters with high PCM make a huge difference to their team’s attacking.

Some terrible calls today.
But the worst part of the refereeing was the artificial momentum created by the referee. Calling players to release immediately after dominant tackles and subsequent 6 agains really helped the tigers. Our defence deserved more leeway in the ruck.
We seemed to get a break from the ref in the 2nd half although Tiges laying all over us in the ruck.

Some of the sexist language and terms used today on here were disgraaceful and it was clear, by the terms used, it was misogynistic and not based on the refs competency, rather her sex instead. We've had much worse ref performances than that and those thug posters on here did not talk about refs in such sexist harmful insults in the same way.

It's very poor to have the Bulldogs club represented like that on a public forum such as this site and I'm glad some have called it out. More need too.

Especially when aggressive male behaviour towards women is in such high prominence this week. What kind of example is being displayed on here for youngsters who read this hateful language....your sons. Your daughters and wives.

Got to be better.
Not this again.

I am a woman & maybe it's how I was raised. It goes over my head.

Yep, I swear like a wharfie.

I have seen the same language used on the male refs. But no one posts about them.

It's not just aggressive from males, females can be aggressive to men.

Just because they call a female ref a cahunt etc doesn't mean the treat their wife's or GF's like shit.

I find it offensive that there are no safe places for men who are suffering DV, in QLD or NSW.

To be fair without the captain challenges they would have got rorted hard.

They can hold their heads up high, they played well enough to keep the score respectable.
I know we won but Casey Badger had a shocker - 4 successful challengers in a game - what a shocker - and Sezer should have been in the bin.

I wonder if Ciro decided during the game to save him to give him another week healing and only use him if we lost a back (Salmon to centre, Presto to 2nd row)
Yes probably but it was an ideal game to give another forward some game time. Anyway CC has his reasons I guess.

I stated on another forum months and weeks ago that Women referees should only referee Women’s games.

I’m not having a go at their knowledge of the game but they’re out there with professional first grade men who are bigger and faster than they are. She was totally lost on a number of occasions and I saw her get in the way on at least TWO occasions. It’s not a matter of if but when one of them get severely hurt.

Furthermore frustrations were at boiling point from players on both sides. I don’t blame her for being put in that position I blame the NRL officials of putting her and other women referees in a position they clearly should NOT be in.

Surely after this train wreck today they have to assign men referees to men’s games. It has to stop not only for the sake of the women’s referees safety but for the game and fans who deserve a lot better.
