Re watched Civil War after seeing it at the cinema originally, it has been on Prime for a little while now, it really is a pretty good flick.

Also appropriate as something like this could actually happen with that fuckhead getting a second crack at world ruination starting real soon lol.
I was waiting for this and rented it as soon as it was available, was a big let down. Plenty of potential for this to be epic and the states that teamed up was ludicrous which would never happen, the action should have been much more.

I have to say these 2 movies are highly rated on my list, the Irishman which brings rober di niro, Joe pesci and al pacino on an Italian mob movie directed my Martin scorsese is crazy to have in our time, it's like goodfellas but with 8k cameras. When you watch the scenes it takes you back to how wacks were actually done by the mob and Martin scorsese absoloutly delivers.

On the other hand shutter island is for the people who like to be mentally brain fked, it's a thriller that will make you more confused at the end of the movie than the beginning, if you like being mentally challenged, this is the movie!

A Southern Noir thriller, set in a tough-and-tumble Mississippi town where a woman and her young daughter are caught in the crossfire when whiskey, guns, and the desire for revenge violently intersect.

This is actually a pretty good movie. The main character, Russell, is released from prison, and by chance comes into contact with Maben, a single parent who is broke and homeless. The way their story actually connects is pretty awesome.

7/10.

Life After Fighting

1735780089302.png

A martial arts instructor is confronted with the disappearance of two of his students, leading him into a direct confrontation with a group of international child traffickers.

I knew a fighting movie with Bren Foster in it would be awesome, but I wasn't prepared for just how awesome this one was. Bren is an absolutely machine fighter, and his moves which are insanely fast are put on display well in this thriller - and none of his fighting moves were CGI, edited or sped-up, it was all raw footage. This is one of the best Aussie movies I've ever seen.

One thing's for sure, if anyone ever thought Aussie Cinema was part of the censorship/nanny state stuff, especially involving kids, this proves them wrong.

9/10.

Mufasa: The Lion King

Mufasa, a cub lost and alone, meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of a group of misfits searching for their destiny.

This movie takes place following the events of the Lion King (2019), and is presented as a story, a prequel within a sequel, to Mufasa's origins, and how he came to be The King.

It's a great movie that ties up some loose ends the original film left behind.

If you've seen the original, then this movie is definitely something you'd want to see. Or even if you just like lions like @ASSASSIN ;)

8/10.

Just saw your post but I watched this the other day myself.Good flick I agree.
Pretty decent actor is Garret Hedlund and the supports are good, well worth a watch.

Garrett Hedlund is perhaps the best character in Tulsa King. He's the main reason I watch it.

The 80's hands down was the best decade for movies, action, comedy you name it - so much quality.
I think the one category that really took a huge leap was animated kids comedies. Movies like Shrek, Monsters inc etc that were from the late 90's etc really began to incorporate humour for adults alongside jokes for kids. Watch any of the more popular Pixar movies with adults and kids at the same time and you'll notice that there's jokes that'll have the kids laughing, and a few seconds later there will be jokes that go over the kids heads that teens or adults will get laughs from.

There are still plenty of classics from earlier times. But I think it'd be easy to argue that as animation technology improved and went digital, some of the better comedy emerged in this genre.

animation is in its own league and improved drastically in a matter of years, older ones may have looked worse than current but had better writing.
