An alleged “love triangle” involving Bulldogs player Adam Elliott and former player Michael Lichaa led to a confrontation with Lichaa’s financee Kara Childerhouse, police will allege.
Police sources have confirmed the argument, which quickly turned physical, was allegedly related to the “love triangle.”

The ex-Bulldogs star, Lichaa,
was charged with assault after police were called to a “domestic incident” at his Connells Point home around 4.50am on Sunday after being notified of the loud dispute by neighbours.
Lichaa’s father, who did not want to be named, said his son had co-operated with police and that the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs had “a lot to answer to” after issuing a statement on Monday saying the NRL’s Integrity Unit was investigating the matter.
“They’ve got a lot to answer to. They’re not doing anything about it. It’s a joke,” he said.

He said his son, who was recovering at the family home, has “never had anything against him” and was a “good guy” who was doing okay despite the ordeal.
A Bulldogs club statement today said “The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have overnight been made aware of an alleged incident involving Adam Elliott”.
“The club has reported the matter to the NRL Integrity Unit and is currently working with them.
“The club is not in a position to comment further at this stage.”
A neighbour said Ms Childerhouse and Lichaa had moved into the home days before the alleged dispute.
“I saw a younger woman around and I said ‘hello’ and she said ‘my name is Kara and my husband is Michael,” the man said. “They had two kids.”

The resident heard a group of people partying on the deck of the house on Saturday afternoon around 3pm for what appeared to be a house warming, before things allegedly turned ugly.
“They were on the deck drinking all afternoon and after that one man was yelling ... I heard him going on and someone tried to control him,” one resident said.
Another resident also heard a ruckus. “The whole afternoon they were going on,” they said.
On arrival, police found 27-year-old Lichaa suffering severe cuts to his hand and arm. Blood stains were also spattered on the front porch and driveway of the house and the glass from the front door had been shattered.
Police say there was another man home when they attended.
Lichaa was taken to Sydney Hospital for treatment by a team of hand specialists before being released from hospital late on Sunday and questioned by police
During the argument he is alleged to have assaulted a 26-year-old woman, believed to be Ms Childerhouse. Police have applied for an Apprehended Violence Order on behalf of Mr Childerhouse.
He was charged with common assault (DV), destroying or damaging property (DV) and stalking/intimidating with intent to fear or cause physical harm (DV).
Lichaa was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday.
