Official Marcelo Montoya signed to end of 26

He's literally NRL experienced depth. All you mfs were twerking for these bum ass forwards that played the exact same role Montoya will for us next season.

do you think he would sign to play reserve grade? i dont think so, just IMO. Gives us 2 big wingers now coming out of our 25, and takes the pressure of our smaller pack.
 
The more I think about it the more I’m okay. He’d be cheap and covers Wing and Centre. Hopefully Ciraldo works on his defence

Sounds like Gus wants Fox’s money spent elsewhere.

Good luck to the bloke if he cost us a game though. We are a loyal but unforgiving bunch, and some won’t hold back lol.

Exactly. I dont understand the carry on in here.

At best, he is a proven winger who will perform well enough to keep the juniors (Wilson/Sua) out. At worst, he doesn't perform and the juniors step up.

It's not like he is going to be on huge coin, and we need to make him work or we are tied by the salary cap.

People want our juniors to progress but then have a sulk when we are signing players that make those pathways possible. Sua or Wilson would never get a chance if we signed a replacement for JAC who is of the same calibre (rep player). Montoya gives us the chance to chance our arm with a young player whilst having a competent player to come in if needed.

Considering Kiraz and Xerri will likely get bigger contracts over the next few years, we will need to balance our roster with a cheaper serviceable winger on the other side of our backline.
 
He will play for the badge, and sometimes, that's all that counts.

I feel a bit silly now. Thought this was just another rumour when I commented a few pages back. I still think Wilson should be our back up winger Montoya is pretty solid as a Centre and prevents us having to shift Kiraz to the centres if Xerri or Chrichton are out.
 
I genuinely can’t believe how negative the positive crew are being about this. Truly strange they would shit on a Bulldogs junior and Gus/CC wisdom.
 
Montoya probably better than Meaney and Okunbor when he was here and we let him go before them 2. Meaney's obviously done well at Storm since. Montoya's been better for Warrior than he was with us too. If it's for JAC it's a downgrade player v player obviously so it'll depend how we spend the salary cap difference.

I don't understand the negativity about the signing,
Even if both JAC and Wilson stay put we'd still need to consider possible injuries...
No matter what sadly there will always be doubters.
