I doubt we see him in FG in 2025. Even if he comes back, he needs a fair amount of time on reggies to make sure he is ok and to find form against adults. We arent as desperate for halves as we were when we signed him anyway.
Can’t see him making the halves if woods is earmarked to play eventually along side Burton was he not spoken about to play possibly at lock?

It wasn't announced in the recent list of 10 players departing the club. So as is my thing, I'll wait and see if our club or another club actually lists him in a team.

There's another newish user that swears Fanafou Seve is gone while Zero tackle have released an article since he's said it saying the club has confirmed Seve Is on a development deal.

For what it's worth I wouldn't be surprised if Journalists hear something and start posting in fan forums trying to get real information from fans in the know.

So IMO a rumour is like a fart prophesizing shit. They start with noise from some random asshole and a lot of the time they stink. There might be shit behind it, but I'll wait for something solid to emerge before I'll trust what any asshole has to say.
With all this talk I hope you are not putting your ear to close to a “source” Alan…..sounds messy!:grinning:
Seriously though….love your work!

He was massively overhyped on his dummy half running in the lower grades. A hooker needs to be able to time their passes to enable their forwards to hit the line at pace allowing them to get a roll on.

Lichaa ruined our pack because he had no ability in that regard IMO. I saw our pack drop away from being pretty dominant to being flat footed overnight when he stepped into the 9. And that largely came down to that first pass off the ruck. The forwards we had all had to slow down to accommodate the eternity he took to get a hand off pass away and they'd generally get smashed afterwards because they were standing targets. His long range passes were about three feet, but he preferred to not pass more than about 1.5 feet. So it effectively slowed down our pack and allowed the defensive line to swarm around the position the previous tackle had been made.

To some extent Hasler can be blamed for not pushing him back a grade until he learned to time a pass. Dummy half running is an asset alongside a good passing game. But the passing game is bread and butter for an NRL hooker and Lichaa just didn't have it in his arsenal. You can get away without one in the junior ranks. But at NRL level, defenders can typically shut down dummy half running when they're aware that it's a hookers only asset. Lower grade form doesn't necessarily reflect what works in the NRL. Lichaa was really found out when he made the jump to the NRL and Hasler seemingly felt like it was ok to make him a long term development project at the expense of our NRL form.
Lichaa was over-hyped for sure. If his lower grade games can be sourced and watched it is obvious this was a BAD signing.

How is this so? He made all the rep teams and was a clear standout in the lower grades. Obviously this didn’t translate to NRL level but I struggle to see how you could determine it was a bad signing based on lower grade games

Where the fark do you get "overhyped" from? Lichaa played U20's State of Origin, was NYC Hooker of the Year and a Junior Kangaroo, there's no over hyping there.

It's easy to forget but 3 games from the end of the 2017 Season Hasler told Lichaa that he wasn't wanted for 2018. So Lichaa went out and played those 3 games to his style, totally ignoring what Hasler said. Those were the 3 best games I saw him play.

In summary, Lichaa was Haslered.

And then Hasler got the boot. And we extended Lichaa and he went back to the same predictable zero passing skills crap the following season. Yeah it worked well for those three games that he'd make a dart before passing and it allowed the props to start moving. But he tried it at the start of Pays first actual year in the job and from round 1 opposition coaches were onto it.

Exclusively running from dummy half doesn't work well at NRL level IMO. In the lower levels where defence is an idea rather than a fact it's fine. If you do it just a bit too frequently in the NRL the markers know what to expect and a lot of the time they'll tackle the hooker with ball in hand before they take 5 steps. There's a reason Lichaa doesn't play NRL anymore.
