Hornsby Railway Goods Yard - circa 1958
30 Class tank. Originally for suburban trains in Sydney. Still used on the Camden and Richmond lines into the 60s and 70s.
Some were converted to tender locos, and worked the branch lines all over the state. Very useful and powerful for their size.

Tunneling for the second Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge - December 17, 1940
The old tunnel is still next to the new one, on the Brooklyn side of the river. It's used for equipment storage.

There was no tunnel on the Woy Woy side off the the original bridge. There is one off the current bridge because it had to be located where a tunnel was required. .

Hornsby Railway Station - circa 1930
Have close look at the train on the right. You can see the standard end platform car, and the rest are the same cars already converted for electric train operation. Note how they are wider than the end platform car, to match the wider electric trains .

I'm guessing the photo will be pre 1926, as these cars were ready before electrification and used with steam until 1926, when they were placed into electric service.
