Hooker - a prostitute, a street worker, a worker who gets paid money for sexual intercourse.
Hooker - a player position who resides and dummy half and distributes the ball to other players, as well as from the back of the scrum.
In both definitions in order to succeed the hooker needs to excel in one key area: SERVICE.
In the NRL this means getting the ball to your players, with enough time and space to enable them to do something with the ball.
In the case of our hooker, he spends that long with the ball in his hands before he passes it, that the defence are already on the player with the ball (or the defence is on him, he panics, and throws a shit pass.
He's that slow that if he was a courier and lived next door it'd still take him 7 days to deliver me a parcel.
Enough is enough, he's had his chances, he isn't working, and he needs to go.
All the other players on the field are impacted by slow or shitty dummy half service, and there's no suprise that the teams that have excelled this week (and in the past) are off the back of decent hookers. Storm are a perfect example, as are Rabbitohs, Tigers, and Cowboys.
Put simply, unless something is done at dummy half we will continue to put on subpar performances, because our players won't have chances to do anything with the ball.
We almost got rid of him once, but now it's time we made the call.
Send Lichaa to NSW Cup. Even if that means JMK at hooker.
If only Nu Brown wasn't injured, he'd even be a viable option.
