God some of you lot are pathetic.

Constantly finding reasons to have a go at our own players, especially young ones.

Maybe the issue is with YOU putting such high expectations on them. Having seen them play one game, a majority were calling for blood. We played half decent in another 2 games and there were calls that we had the best spine etc. in years.

Realise that this year is simply rebuilding. Gaining character and experience. It's a learning curve.

Stop being a bunch of d*ckheads and back the lads a little.

make a highlights package and post it of lewis where as a playmaker he made plays
You honestly think I would spend the time doing that to convince kennel malcontents? Lol!

He provided plenty of points for us last year and has been hit and cold this year.... but he’s a young player playing behind a forward pack that is lacking and in an inexperienced spine. WTF do you expect?

Lewis and Okunbor have potential. Though they need to be played in the correct positions.

Lewis aint a half and Okunbor aint a winger. ffs which winger doesnt know how to step?

I dont blame the kids at all...
Good to see someone isn’t flaming the poor kids!

Where do you think they both belong?

I still like Lewis but he was too erratic today. Taking hitups inside our 30. Running both sides of the ruck like a headless chicken and making to many tackles. I would like to see him conserve energy for key ‘attacking’ moments and use his forwards to do the dirty
Work.
He was just trying anything to try and get a breakthrough, he was playing with his youth today and it showed lucky his defence was stellar. Our middle let us down and without it the young halves can’t be expected to do everything themselves.

We need Foran back. And we need Napa back. Different side without either of them.

The ***** in here jumping up and down after one week over people who haven’t played a full season of first grade yet need to be segregated to a fucking trash forum.

Would love to uppercut the lot of you.

Lewis is trying too hard.

He has to play his natural game & not try to win the game, each time he gets the ball.

He’s bit a halfback, for starters. He should be playing 6 and Cogger playing 7 rather than trying to make Lewis a halfback so Foran can play 6 if and when he can get his body right.

Without Lewis’ d, we lose by even more today.

He’s a good player who is young and playing out of position...

We have a young side. Look st the combines experience of our spine. Of course they are going to struggle for consistency.
Yep. You are spot on. It was always going to be a struggle this year. Inconsistency will most always be a problem with youth and inexperience. Last week was a brilliant effort under tough conditions I.e. Napa and Foran and no cookies. This week was going to be hard. I think those first 4 penalties didn’t help with confidence. I thought a couple of those were a little harsh btw.

Lewis is doing great for his level of experience. Name one half that played excellent every week in a shit team in their first twenty games?

Okunbor is trash as anyone that has watched him come through would know. It was embarrassing how much everyone was praising him that hasn’t watched his game last year. He can’t tackle and he can’t catch.

Meaney has been great and is our long term fullback. Has great natural skill as a fullback and will continue to develop.

We missed Napa’s energy dramatically today. He leads our pack into a whole different style of play.

Cogger is still only in his second game for the club and has a long way to go.

We desperately need a hooker. That is what we are missing. We need an Ennis again.
When our first replacement is Adam Elliott, and a hooker who can't play 80 minutes we have real problems.

Give yourself an upper cut

Some of you really need to give yourselves a massive uppercut, then have someone kick yourselves in the private areas.

Two young lads who're going to learn. The whole team is young and this year is all about building character. Dropping Lewis or any other young kid now would do more damage than good. It's a learning curve for them and they just have to go through it.

Would be more looking to some of the older / more experienced players personally rather than throwing the youngens under the bus.
We didn't even play with a halfback today.
Wasn’t Tolman the workhorse our 7 today?

Prince was trying way too hard An overplaying his hand, he went away from his natural game, he usually has an takes his time putting up his kicks etc, no way would you drop him, it would kill all his confidence an that’s one thing he has bucketloads of...!! He needs to dial it back a bit an play controlled footy.. because that’s when he shines.. gotta keep that cheeky smile on his face !!

Yesterday was a huge mentality thing, and that’s the hard part, look at the warriors, awesome spine, some top class players and they blew a 12 point lead!!

Lewis is unreliable and okunbor can’t catch. We have some recruiting to do.
hahahahahahhahahhahahahahhahahah

Are you 6 years old? One weekend Okunbor is the next big thing and then all of a sudden he's not first grade standard.

Add Martin too he was fuckn terrible
Luckily he only signed for this season, so the more shit he dishes out is only benefiting us, Pay needs to tell him keep putting in these efforts and next season he'll be playing for Newtown for gift vouchers.

Maybe people wouldn't be disappointed in our rookies if they didnt place unrealistic expectations on them. Threads like Lewis should be our captain etc FMD. He was labelled the Prince the week after his debut for first grade. Too much pressure has been placed on Lewis, he needs time to mature, to work on his kicking game etc because its poor and always has been. Long range bombs dont equate to a good kicking game and neither does kicking out on the full nearly every week. Okunbor is so green, his defense from day one was concerning but everyone was talking him up because he runs over smith, because for the first time in a while we saw our team play a little flash. I think he has the potential, he's just inexperienced. Collectively, our team massively lacks experience to compete at NRL level. That set play (you know the only one we have) coming out of that scrum 10 out from there line that we bombed was so clunky. You simply cant prepare/train/instill experience so its annoying seeing people dump shit on our rookies.

The team looks fitter compared to rounds 1 and 2. Ill get smashed for this but our structure has improved. Lewis grubber kicking in goal yesterday was a good sign. Errors where terrible yesterday but the team including Lewis and Okunbor never gave up.

Lewis is still young and inexperienced, if he was surrounded by a team with older more experienced players that would help and maybe Lamb and Mortimer need to be more involved with training him and guiding him with all their skill and experience that made them such great players, I still believe Lewis will be a great player, ok he's made some mistakes but he hasn't been in fg long and dropping him will only put self doubt into his mind, keep him and Cogger in the halves they'll improve in fg it's just going to take time.

I think Okunbor needs to put a lot more effort into his defence more than anything, yes he can bust tackles but defence wins you games and his defence is very average.

In reality our team is made of mostly reserve graders
1. We lost all our supper stars in the last 2 years
2. We Recruited a bunch of unwanted reserve graders
3. Under the circumstances we are playing some players in the wrong positions
We are desperate for very high quality players ONLY...in this positions
I list them in order of need

1. Hooker
2. Prop
3. Halfback
4. Center
5. Maybe a Fullback
And a capable captain !!!
As a supporter I believe this year the excuses time should be over !!!

Lol, typical Kennel. You can't worship these players and then dump them at the first sign of trouble. They're rookies and these mistakes are going to happen, having so many rookies around each other and a poor coach leading them also makes things harder. Not saying these players don't have a lot to work on as they are clearly lacking in a lot of areas, but these things were known when they were first selected.
As often quoted, we have the youngest roster in the NRL and that inevitably means some good games and some bad ones until the players learn how to perform at their best week in week out. How to eliminate mistakes and overcome them when they inevitably happen, how to recover both physically and mentally. In my experience this doesn't come "naturally" it is something that is learnt over time, there are no "shortcuts". Second year syndrome is real, it happens to almost every player, that's where their game has to expand, adding alternatives to their natural game that they played in year one.

I agree, expecting consistent good performances from a team this young and inexperienced is unrealistic.

We need a nuffy forum. Years ago people here complained that we didn't blood young players. Now we are cause we are being forced to due to previous managements failures. It's a rocky road and there will be plenty of losses ahead. No need to jump off the gap each time.
