A tad overstated, I think. Ponting never assaulted a player during a game, let alone twice in his career. Did he run over your pet or something?
I enjoyed watching him back in the day… but he was objectively a bigger on field **** than Kohli. Truth hurts, bro lol

I should say I’m not a big fan of Kohli. However, I have been warming to him, and I was really happy for him that he scored his 100, after a long drought, against the Aussies in the second Test. Therefore, you should preface your comment by saying Kohli is, outside Aussie players, your favourite player. The bias is really apparent my man. IMHO it doesn’t matter what he is like off the field. The fact he has been around the game for a long time, the fact he is so highly regarded in India, and the fact his accomplishments are second to none, makes his actions the worse. He is a statesman of the game and physically bullied a 19 year old on his Test debut. Just woeful. He deserves to be suspended, which you, to your credit agreed with, but the outrage is definitely warranted.
I don’t think it matters that I'm a fan of the guy. I have clearly condemned his actions, as you acknowledge. All I’m saying is sometimes ugly shit goes down in the heat of the pro sporting arena and that is not necessarily indicative of the person. Same applies to Siraj, and I’m no fan of his.

Kohli did a bad thing on the cricket field. Aussies have done stuff that was worse. I know you agree with that, because you stopped supporting them over the way they used to carry on. But many Aussie fans who get bent out of shape when Kohli or Siraj cross a line will readily defend the antics of a Ricky Ponting and not see the double standard. Ponting also seems like a perfectly decent guy off the field, BTW.

As for Konstas, I’m not having any of this he’s a 19 year old stuff… and I’m sure he wouldn’t want to hear that either. It implies he doesn’t belong. Once you get picked to represent your side in test cricket you forfeit the right to be wrapped in cotton wool… Konstas knows this, which is why he was quick to dismiss what happened as just shit going down on a cricket field.

What Kohli did was wrong because the laws of the game prohibit aggressive physical contact. Konstas’ age is not really relevant from my POV.

Should he have copped a suspension? Probably. Put it down to politics if you like. But as I said, after the Rabada incident, I think match refs would be pretty reluctant to hand out suspensions in that scenario. Still can’t believe Rabada got off. It had opened up a huge can of worms.

PS belated merry Christmas and Happy NY, fam.

Time to bring the laws back inline. Konstas is just reciting the usual it stays on the field line. He seems like a good fella and loving what he does. I don’t think anything would fluster his moment. It’ll all come out in 20 years in his tell all book as he gets more bitter in old age like me! Lol..

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, baby!

Who's the senior player? One of the jobs of senior players is to protect the young fellas from themselves. It's called leadership. A problem is that Khawaja is so willing to give up the facing of the first ball. That tells me a lot about him.
Konstas has openly said he likes to jog out into the centre. He likes to face the first ball. He told Khawaja he was going to face the first ball.. and you think as the senior player, Khawaja should have told him, nah, mate. I’m facing the first ball. You can stand up the other end and get more nervous. Very weird take. Konstas is clearly the type of character who likes to get into the game as soon as possible. Khawaja overruling him and refusing to let him face up is the absolute worst thing he could have done.

I don’t disagree. It should be a suspension any day of the week.

Konstas’s favourite player is Kohli. I’m sure his words were genuine. He won’t hold a grudge.

I guess you don't know much about the game & how it operates.

Keep in mind that Ponting isn't playing this test. Kohli is.

Objectively I say this Ute...
Get your missus to turn you over man, you are cooked.
I notice too your fighting a one man battle not one other person agrees with you because your wrong.

Also and I've said this before did you never watch Steve Waugh? He was the king of sting it's a pity he and Kockhli didn't play in the same era.
