In all seriousness and all the King Kohli talk aside. That was test cricket at its best.

The tactics after the break along with the tension of the milestone scores dried up the runs. Lyon breaks through after a good spell.

Nitish becomes stranded on 99 with the ultimate clown move from Bumrah, running between wickets for a second.

Bumrah goes for a duck and the tension goes to a whole new level. Then Siraj of all batters is able to survive to get Nitish back on strike. There was so much tension and then the emotion of getting the vital century. Test cricket at its absolute best.

King Kohli will have the final say in this series.

Kohli is being lambasted because he objectively did the wrong thing… and rightly so. But you don’t think Ponting was a frequent recipient of similar criticisms at various points throughout his career?

I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks Punter carried himself like a fuckhead on the pitch at times, mate. Elbow nudging and shouldering bowlers after getting dismissed, blowing up at umpires, giving grounded catches out himself. Here are just a few of his career “highlights.”

Unless Marsh bowls at least 10 overs, and bearing in mind his current form with the bat, he must be the next player on the chopping block to be replaced.

The number six spot will be of big importance on spinning pitches as whoever is in that spot will have to be the third seamer, with the likelihood of two spinners being picked in Sri Lanka and a quick bowler rotated out.

Marsh has to be skating on thin ice at present.
