Ask yourself why Flanagan was much better last season compared to this year. He played in a spin that complemented his game. It hid his weaknesses. Sure, his coach could see it and i'm sure most Roosters fans could too but for the most part he looked like a decent first grade halfback.

If either Brooks or Averillo are halfback next year then Burton’s development will suffer [emoji817].

Please no - don’t think he has another level. Good halfback but no superstar.

Can someone please explain to me why Barrett persists with Averillo at halfback when he is not an organiser and has a pathetic kicking game...why doesn't he give BBO a chance at halfback for the rest of the year with to see what he offers. FFS we are coming last! Who cares if we win another game. this is the ideal time to blood him. he may be our long term answer to halfback and can be paired with Burton. Stuff looking at signing Brooks or another expensive half back. And if lewis is not going to be re-signed then don't use him! I don't want to lose BBO...he honestly seems like a real talent!
TO be fair S Katoa needs to go before Averillo. BBO would shine as there's nothing really left to lose at this point, but we also should be reserved as well since the kid is still raw

There is nothing worse than playing a kid who is 19 who can barely tackle for 80 minutes in a pressure cooker position of halfback lol. Think beyond the attacking highlights and think of the kids future.

From what i saw of brooks last night, he looked pretty good. But I’m no expert on him as I don’t West Tigers games. But last night against the Broncos he looked good. I think we need someone with more experience though to teach some of the younger guys. Between Gus and Barrett I’m sure they will come up with a plan. We need a group that will stay together for at least 4-5 years to gel well.

Then put literally any other player apart from Katoa to partner BBO in the No.9 position, because Katoa is absolutely dog shit

If we can get an experienced halfback they can also influence Averillo is growing as a player. Not that he’s not good, but he will get better. If you look at James Maloney who was brought to Penrith - he was there for experience but also influenced Nathan Cleary and look how he turned out.

I’d rather brooks than Avo tbh. But I’d be trying to ban benji for a year

Massive shortage of genuine 7s in the game such a specialist position. I would go all in for Junior. We need a stop gap in the 7 position.

See brooks trying to talk to the boys in the sheds? He’s timid as fuck. No wonder he’s shit

BBO at 14 for the time being is ideal i think, he is young and with no football last year i don't see any need to rush him in at 7

Burton was 7 next to luai against storm he also got mom that game. May at 7 panthers struggle with anyone next to him.

I like Avo but he’s been a little underwhelming at 7. BBO is the one I’d love to see in 7, he seems like he’s handle it just fine.
