Arabs weren't around at the time of Jesus.
Call him whatever you want, I genuinely dont know his ethnic lineage, called him Arab for ease of reference but he clearly was not white.

but I just don't see what point people are attempting to make.

What was significant to me growing up as a Catholic were the ideas and values which I learned and still believe in today.

It depends whether you believe Shaun Kind is advocating for the peaceful replacement and voluntary removal of pictures of Jesus or whether he is asking the mobs of violent BLM protesters to do it themselves.

I shouldn't need to say anything else , the judgement is clear to see

Personally, I grew up going to a catholic church and the colour of Jesus skin was never of significance to me.

I've seen Jesus depicted as white in Southpark. That Jesus character is hilarious and I don't think this is a problem.

I've also seen Jesus depicted as various shades of brown, but I just don't see what point people are attempting to make.

What was significant to me growing up as a Catholic were the ideas and values which I learned and still believe in today.

Of particular significance is the idea that we are inherently flawed but should always attempt to live our lives in the best way possible. I can relate to that, have made huge mistakes in my life but always try to take steps forward to be a better person.
For me it doesn't matter what a persons skin colour or race is and etc as our culture has been teaching us no one is great than another in front of Gods eyes despite such petty stuff we see today, with my previous post I was only pointing out the craziness of that BLM leaders opinions when if you were to look at where Jesus and his family came from and why he is depicted as what we see in images now

Which judgement?

I simply said I grew up as a catholic which meant it was wrong to indiscriminately loot, mob, steal from people or destroy places of worship (regardless of the religion).

Lmao so true ey but lets go even further into this, he was Semitic from the Levantine... My people like many others are from there and lo and behold no black people in our families as they aren't native to our land but only alittle further down after Egypt from a place called Africa... Jesus without a doubt had olive to white skin, with brown or black hair with eyes raging from green, blue or hazel or the odd brown as thats the norm for our people even after the Gulf Arabs came to us. Fuck that BLM leader needs to educate himself on regions and genetics lmao, he is also looking pretty light light skinned if you ask me...
Jesus was only half Semitic. The other half was God genes so I gather he looked something like this..

FYI if Shaun King (or anyone else) calls for Mosques or Synagogues to be defaced or burned or attacked on the basis of someone's skin colour or depictions of some religious historical figure, I would also call this dangerous and violent and be 100% against it.

Is this an example of those sacred Western ideals you want to protect?

https://www.news.com.au/world/north...t/news-story/7af7ae83205b9e20979df19be6fedcac

A double amputee attending a protest in the US was left injured and crawling on the ground after officers allegedly pepper sprayed him and took his prosthetic legs.

The man who was attending a Black Lives Matter protest in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday was sprayed by police who then disconnected his legs, according to claims made by protesters.

“Today in Columbus my husband was downtown at the protests & saw the cops hit & mace an unarmed kid then STEAL HIS PROSTHETIC LEGS,” Lauren McCubbin, an Assistant Professor at the Columbus College of Art & Design alleged on Twitter.

I gather that he's basing it on this image. This image was created by scientist and anthropologists from bones and skulls gathered around the time as well as a bunch of other stuff showing that this is most likely what Jewish people in the area looked like at the time. Not necessarily what Jesus looked like but if his lineage was accurate then it could have been something like this.

But 2,000 years is a long time and plenty enough time for skin tone to change. Most of our skin colour variations likely happened in the last 15,000 years with white skin colour probably being 4,000 - 8,000 years old.

The middle east was a mess around that time though. There was so many different people from so many different areas including the Greeks, Romans, Jewish, Egyptians, various Mesopotamian races, Africans, and many, many others.

LMFAO - abusing power is THE bedrock cornerstone of our western culture. The West is corrupt has abused the East, South and North for land, people and profits for decades, christ, do you know anything about history?

Interesting misconception with the book of Genesis. Everyone thinks God rested on the 7th day, but everyone knows that a rest day is actually leg day.

The bedrock cornerstone of western culture is the rule of law and sovereign rights of the individual, along with a number of other rights which you won't find in many other countries.

You only need to look at certain countries over the course of the last 100 years to gain an appreciation of how lucky we are to live in western nations. Ukraine, Russia, China, Ethiopia.

Am I against crimes committed against other countries throughout the course of history? Absolutely. They are wrong and we should call them out. However it doesn't remove the fact that western society is responsible for many great things at the same time including the greatest advances in the fields of medicine, science (to name only two).

Also you didn't answer my question. I am sincerely against anyone abusing their power. Why would you think I am ok with it?

Twitter Mocks Conservative For Saying “Statues Of Jesus Are Next” To Come Down

by Lindsey Weedstonabout 5 hours ago

As civil unrest over police brutality and racism in the U.S. continues across the country, many people are turning their ire onto statues and monuments that celebrate some of the nation’s most famous racists, including Confederate generals, slave owners, and generally bad people. Conservatives, ever concerned with preserving history unless it’s in our public textbooks, have been pearl-clutching hardcore over seeing their heroes toppled to the ground like that.

This includes Matt Schlapp, American Conservative Union chairman and Fox News contributor, who worried that statues of Jesus Christ are “next.”

Statues of Jesus are next. It won't end. Pray for the USA

If you’re worried about Touchdown Jesus, don’t be. That already burned down from a lightning strike in 2010. Isn’t there something in the Bible about God not being a fan of statues?

As for the other statues of Jesus across the country, Black Lives Matter protesters have not indicated anywhere that these particular idols will be targeted for removal. At the very least, there are still plenty of Confederate monuments and statues of other racists that would need to go first.

God@thegoodgodabove

Jesus doesn’t care if you knock down statues of Jesus.

He cares about people not having food or medicine.

Many have reassured Schlapp by saying that since Jesus was a Black man hunted and murdered by the state, tearing down his statue in support of a movement against state violence upon Black lives doesn’t make much sense.

Regardless, there are more important things to worry about not ending in the U.S. than monument removals, as many commenters have pointed out to Schlapp. In fact, there are so many hilarious jokes about this Schlappin’ tweet that we had to make a whole list of them. Enjoy!
