That's basically AFB confirmed then
Bit worried about roosters, fletch on his podcast "the run home" I think said roosters landed someone big for 25. AFB would have to be it???Unless its a full back or something to replace teddy?

Probably Jack Welsby tbh always envisioned them stealing him. Roosters always have to have elite fullbacks stockpiled.

Was our club even in the market for Jacob Saifiti?

Prop and was off contract for 2025. He re-signed yesterday. He should have been a target.

Who says he wasn't a target?
If he was a target it's another miss for Gould. This one was the obvious. Off contract, no release conditions, prop, clean cut deal. Re-signed with Newcastle now off the market.

No miss, he wanted to stay with his twin brother and accepted under’s for the privilege - Nothing to do with Gus.

By that logic, every off-contract player who signs somewhere else is a miss for Gus. Clearly it doesn't matter what the player wants either - they either sign here or it's a recruitment fail for the Dogs.

These guys don’t want to acknowledge the players view of the world and looking to throw shade at Gus at every opportunity - truth of the matter is, Gus is very player focussed and would encourage them to do the right thing in their best interests more so than not… he wouldn’t have chased Jacob if he couldn’t also get his brother over knowing his heart wouldn’t be completely in it…. He’s after players that want to be Bulldogs

Not unlike Josh Morris always wanting to play with Brett. Subsequently they were at three clubs together.

Lots of people have been talking about who we missed out on. Who we should have signed instead..

I don't see how anyone can objectively look at this list and say that aside of a handful of players that it's not slim pickings across the league..

The cap increasing so much and the 17th team have killed the market. Some teams have added no one at all, others only squad players and backups. Aside from the Roosters and Dolphins most teams did nothing in the market. Souths signed Wighton and the Warriors signed RTS but we signed Crichton..

It will be similar next season as well. It was happening with a lack of good halves last year. The markets tightening up as the league grows. Thats why I think we should be investing in young fowards especially mids and especially among the Isalnder nations who have been consistently producing top mids in recent years. Theres another Haas or Tino out there.

We have Patolo and we bought Kitione Kautoga so hopefully they will come good. But just like we are buying young backs we are hopefully also doing the same for forwards because I think development is now the way to go. Especially for city sides who don't have a big junior area.

It’s been said 100 times but the islands are tapped out yo.
Trust me. These are tiny islands and in todays world nothing is getting past scouts
League. Union. NFL. WWE
Most islanders don’t come from the islands anyway they are from Blacktown, Penrith, south Auckland and Logan. With a pinch of dee why.

Different relationship, I’m not sure the money means as much to the Saifiti bros. But who knows…. Most of us are speculating right

Well that might explain the unbelievable amount of recruitment misses then. Chasing players that “want to be bulldogs” is gonna he an arduous task considering no fucken player in the world wants to come to our club for any intangible reasons and the why is obv

Gus speaks with all players off contract, coming off contract as well as disgruntled players, as he should!

The real question is which players does he really want? He won't tell anyone who he really wants

You mean other than the swathe of recruits for this year already? Anyone that signs here "wants to be a Bulldog", clearly. Your posts have descended into absolute dribble, it's clear even you don't know what point it is that you're trying to make.
