I had 2 birthdays at The Century on Saturday.

Food is still awesome. It was like Noah's ark, smashed 2 of each animal lol

What stood out for me were the pippies in XO sauce and the garlic butter lobster.

One of the many times I regretted the stomach op lol But saved the final bill by 60% lol

The Century? If you're going to the star, you might as well stop at Fat Noodle on the way. That's almost a custom I've become used to everytime I go to that joint lol. If that casino is going to take my money, the least they can do is fill me up in return!

Just had Mi Goreng noodles. I think they're from Singapore. Bloody delicious, quick and easy to make, but not something you'd have every day.

Have you been to Singapore @Wahesh ? I've just returned after two weeks in the States .. totally missed my local variety of Asian cuisine here!

Sadly the only time I've been there was when I had a layover so I couldn't get out of the airport :( Definitely on my Asian tour bucket list though - along with Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Philippines.

Imagine if Australia had a backbone the same as Singapore?

This nation wouldn't be as corrupt or have as many filthy grubs running around polluting everyone with their seed!

Speaking of Asian food.
I've never been able to get right into Asian food.

I'd prefer a pizza or a burger mostly.

I don't know how to use chop sticks and don't think i want to try now?

Ahhh .. another time. However, Changi food stalls are said to cater to a wide style of foods.
My friend says the airport is a destination in itself!!

Headed to Hong Kong next month for a short trip.
Japan and Vietnam remain illusive inclusions on my bucket lists, as well.
Hit up Manilla (totally not a fan) and Boracay PH is OMG amazing resort island!

Exactly, Singapore just simply works! I do love living and working here, much more than the US and Australia.

For you @Armchair critic, I would suggest the Vietnamese Bánh mì, given that you enjoy burgers, this is a great French/Asian fusion!
Also known as pork roll, it consists of a fresh baked baguette, with minimal veggies, pork of course and pate.
You can select your own level of spice with chilli.
So.damn.good and filling!!

Oh you in Singapore?
My boss is from Singapore, I've got great respect for him, because he is from a nation with a backbone.

I especially love how in Singapore, criminals such as murders, peadophiles, bank robbers, commercial drug dealers etc, are excluded from human rights.

We need to introduce corporal punishment in Australia for those who are guilty beyond reasonable doubt!

Nope not Manilla. As much as I would love to visit it I know that Manilla is only a destination you should ever go to in order to get the heck out of straight away... and that's via the airport. The thing is (and not many people know this) Philippines has over... wait for it... 7,100 islands. That's right. 7,107 to be exact. The best one to go to is the hard bit. I've been recommended to Boracay by a friend of mine who is from the Philippines. That island is what most people envision paradise to look like...

So absolutely spot on with your description of Manilla!!!

Boracay is a dream destination ... I've jumped off of that rock formation in your first image, @Wahesh ... it's changed a little now, there are seated dinning areas set up on each of those outcrops. Still a delight at sunset.
Also, did you hear the island was closed for tourism for the last six months? A directive by their President to clean up Boracay. I believe it officially re-opened this week following the massive clean up efforts.

Anyone traveled to Maldives? Thinking of booking a trip for sometime in Feb-April 2019. Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed! 8-)

I'm not afraid to jump off a cliff of great heights provided that there's no rocks or Sea Urchins beneath of course :-) I would love to go there for a honeymoon during the non-typhoon season... imagine sunset from that rock. A resort right on the water too.

Yeah I heard it was closed for 6 months I think towards the end of last year IIRC? But yep that would've taken a big hit financially. The current President of the country... I'm not a big fan of his!

My cousin went to the Maldives for his honeymoon. I can't give any recommendations for location, however if you happen to pass a mud-bath area... TAKE IT. Mud all over your body isn't fun, but washing it off is. Highly recommend that as it's something I want to do :grinning:

Oh... let's not forget hot springs ;)

Gosh... so me and my posse went downtown to have lunch together as I'm finishing up. We went to a Thai restaurant and decided to each order a plate but share the stuff around. There was that much stuff, we couldn't finish it. Those Thai's make large servings.
