It’s pretty simple, not vaxed he can’t train with the team, he can’t play in Qld, he can’t play in Vic, he can’t play in NZ and he can’t go home to the UK. It’s his choice if he does or doesn’t get vaxed, but there are consequences to making that choice.

In another words, Covid-19 vaccination has nothing to do with the rumour.

If the club swapped Flanno for Brooks that might be ok as long as tigpies paid some freight

If Thommo doesn't want to get vaccinated then he should be sacked (or moved on without us paying a cent)....as simple as that. He's already not giving us value for money when he spends half the season on the sidelines though suspensions. Now he'll miss our interstate games because of this shit. No thanks. No vax, no play

To me the worry isn't Thommo but JAC. If he doesn't get vaxxed then we have a real problem because we need him on and off the field

If we sack Thommo and we sign Brooks, then Gus and Baz deserve to be sacked.
I like the idea of sacking Thompson.. Would be interesteing to see what support the Dogs get from fuck knuckle V'landy..

If Thommo catches Covid and recovers then the whole vax thing will go away because they don’t vax you if you’re Covid positive. Then he’s got natural immunity so good as vaxxed if not better.
Natural immunity unfortunately doesn't last that long from the research can only last 12 weeks.

Why would we pay 850k for Brooks? Lol
Cause we might be able to poach Brooks at a cheaper rate plus I would rather be paying that amount of money for a specialist halve then for a forward who isn’t even close to be worth that much

Maybe he is but got a feeling his Mrs isn't.

Each to their own I say and fair play for standing up for your beliefs. Can't knock him for that and no one should.

Got a feeling he simply wants to go home and this is his get out card. He'll still get paid a chunk of his salary I imagine and gets to go home and start up a family.

So be it. Just hope there's enough time for us to sign up another top player like him
If true this could only be a smokescreen for the real reason...
1. He could be homesick
2. He could be seeking an extended contract at 850k a season at the Tigpies
In any case we should not fork out a cent if he leaves !!!

At the moment without the Vax you can't fly anywhere, you won't be able to play professional sport in Victoria and Queensland will probably go like Vic's. NSW still could go that way too, that would put all unvaccinated players with one option if they still wanted to play footy. Get the jab.

Good on Thompson for sticking to his guns, it’s HIS right as a human being to decide what does or doesn’t go into his body, Just as it is with vaccinated people, if they choose to stick it in them good for them, but don’t criticising those who choose not to. We all have a right to choose, and nothing and nobody should criticise, alienate or threaten that right. And yes I have have had the first jab, I just choose to not judge anyone who chooses not to take it!

Novak Djokovic allegedly has had covid & isn't vaxxed & won't be allowed into the country for the Australian Open etc because he isn't vaxxed.

We can do the first fleet in reverse, but with the unvaxxed.

It’s his choice to make and I don’t think anyone has an issue with that. But there are inevitable and unavoidable consequences on his ability to function as an NRL player. The majority of those consequences are external, health orders nationally and internationally. As a result getting a release from his contract with us solves nothing, he has the same problems in any NRL team and he can’t simply fly home to the UK. None of this is going to change for years.

I hope that has been explained to him in full by his manager, agent and lawyer. This is a huge decision that will affect him for his entire career, it could foreseeably end his career.

I am not sure how you can make this claim unless you have seen his full employment contract? If your employment contract requires you to submit to drug tests then if you don't you breach the contract and will be potentially subject to sactions specified in the contract. I have had many employment contracts that have not specified a requirement to be drug tested at the request of the employer.
It was just an example

I'm sure Thompson will change his tune when he starts losing money.

If he's insistent on not getting it, then Gus will gladly use that cap space to find someone else. As good as Thompson is, he's easily replaceable.
