TPJ’s getting dragged online like it’s his fault the blues lost… when tedesco only passed the ball once - on a kick return - and danced around and did nothing in attack. he failed to knock cobbo into touch and save a try, and slipped over on his own shadow and let hammer jog past him for another.
add to that nathan cleary having potentially the worst game of his career. clearys kicking game was awful, bombing to nobody and never kicking out to the wingers. he offered no spark to the flat attack and no creativity whatsoever. even his normally strong running game was nowhere near the mark.
meanwhile the reigning dally m player of the year spent 70 minutes on the pine, only to be brought on at right centre - when the blues had gone left for the entire night to try and get their penrith mates over the try line.
add to that burto, an actual utility (who has won a comp at centre and won dally m centre of the year) who possesses the best spiral bomb in the game with the ability of forcing walsh into an error was left out entirely at 18th man.
but it’s definitely pangai’s fault…

He's still unfit IMHO. He can't do 15mins without hunching over and looking at the bench. I thought he improved on his fitness? Yeah nah.

Friz went alright. Haas was decent. TPJ wasn't great but our backs and halves let us down.
This, i did mention here when origin was picked on the surprise selection of TPJ, tpj hardly did damage and did a stupid offload in the nsw 20 which lead to a qld try

Cleary and Tedesco clearly the biggest disappointments of the night. Young was shit. TPJ was sorta ok until his errors and penalties, which obviously cost NSW. Frizell ran the ball well but stiffled the attack by refusing to pass. I thought Martin was a beast. Chrighton was also very solid, along with To'o. Bottom line though, Fittler has to go.

Frizell was a bit of a ball hog as well but Qld kept pushing him towards the sideline and it affected that side for clear ball.

NSW were poor, as they generally are first game, and not ready to to play SOO intensity or tactics.

Slater gave Fittler a bath but only bc Qld play tougher and smarter.

So many NSW players didn't step up whereas all Qlders did.

Mark my words, if they drop tpj for next game or word
Is out he’s dropped u watch him
Play like shit for us. Complete confidence player, ado carr might not be there either. Hopefully we can get hunt over for a year or two, and I’d say I wouldn’t be surprised if burton isn’t in the team next time starting or 14

TPJ was solid. People blaming him for the loss are idiots. Clearys underwhelming performance should be the talking point. He had another poor soo game
Even Haas was less than stellar really. NSW were out enthused and dominated. Hudson Young flamed out. Just poor leadership all round from front office to the field.

Tevita should never have been picked in the first place based on form. You can't have his brain explosions at that level. Seeing as he only played 30 minutes, it's likely he's dropped for Game 2 with the series on the line.

Penalties? what penalties? he gave away 1 penalty for a flop which NEVER gets penalized in origin.
1 misguided offload and they score 3 tackles later, and its his fault??
Queensland did the same thing and just defended it. DCE dropped the ball on the first 30 out, and they just defended it.
T was so far down NSW's list of problems that its laughable that were talking about him.

Tedesco is the new Gallen - undroppable.

Makes the attack so disjointed - he’s finished at this level IMO.

The loss was not on him at all but he was lucky to be picked in the first place, didn't deserve it on form compared to other players and didn't have a good game last night. He only played 30 minutes. Nothing TPJ did last night justified Freddy's questionable decision to pick him in the first place.

I agree, there are plenty of higher profile players that deserve more blame than him, but TPJ is one of the most expendable and most likely to be dropped for game 2.

That flop penalty was ridiculous.
You're right. Never penalised in SOO like that. Where was no marker so he was entitled ...but then again did anyone clarify if Held had been called by ref?

Tevita's flop penalty was blatant. Was a penalty all day, every day. It was one of the few calls they got right.

I think the problem with TPJ is he was probably told to keep his cool. Probably harder for him to do than let him just rip qld a new one and go all out. He prob made just as many errors staying controlled as he does when playing at the limit. If you’re going to pick a guy to play aggressive then let him do it. Payne Haas didn’t exactly have a blinder either… neither did most of the team to be honest. How we lost to a qld team with players out of position all over the park is unacceptable however you look at it. Comes back to the coach

I thought Tedesco was a bit of a ball hog, many times it seemed he would not for the life of him pass to Ado Carr
