The Real Outcomes of BLM

Everyone wants to imagine that somehow American society will become more safe and more sociable and a better place for all simply because some marxists and spoiled rich college kids yell out BLM in public.

But what has been the reality of crime in America since the BLM riots and looting?

Here's one example from the weekend in Brooklyn, New York. 1 year old boy shot dead in his stroller:

Any outrage from the press? From the spoiled white rich college kids? From the usual suspects on this internet forum?

Of course not, because the suspects in these cases are black men. These cases haven't even hit the media over here. The media don't care because they can't blame a white police officer for it.

In Milwuakee homicides have risen 40% this year so far and likely to break the all time record for homicides in a year.

This weekend in Chicago 64 people were shot and 11 murdered.

In New York shootings are up 200% compared to this time last year. It is now the most dangerous time to live in New York city in the last 25 years.

Defunding the police and making it harder for police to do what they need to do, increases the chances of crimes going up and that has already happened throughout America.

It's all propaganda driven by the media making a big thing out of something that shouldn't exist in the first place.

YES, black lives matter, but ALL lives matter. The media just shine it on black after what happened to Floyd.

It seems everyone (rightly) agreed Floyd's killing was criminal and the justice system is doing what it's supposed to (i.e. the cops will be put in front of a jury of their peers).

But claiming that the biggest problem facing black people in America is cops is just a lie.

The biggest problem facing black people in America is fatherless households and crime rates that far exceed any other ethnic group in America. You could say that the biggest problem facing black men is other black men with guns.

The only outcome from the BLM movement is there will be no outcome.

Stupid yanks will continue to kill each other in ever increasing numbers, white will point the finger at black, black will point the finger at white, brown will continue to clean houses, the rich will get richer, the poor poorer and gun sales will go up.

Pause for a decade then rinse and repeat.

How many riots/protests/talking points have been created from 2x 1 year old babies being shot in Chicago and New York? Zero.

No one even knows these deaths happened because the media haven't created the same uproar they created for Floyd.

And the cowards on social media aren't creating any momentum because it would not be politically correct to state that black people kill each other at ridiculous rates.

BLM doesn’t mean that no black person ever commits a crime or does anything wrong. This is a cause that people believe in. To just say look at when black men have done wrong doesn’t change what happened to George Floyd and countless others over there.
Both things can be true and can be issues that can be addressed. They don’t cancel each other out or make either less important.

This debate has been done to death. I gave up on it. It only leads to a further divide until everyone starts blasting each other then the thread gets locked and a whole bunch people get banned.

And what's the result? One group still thinks systemic racism doesn't exist, another group thinks systemic racism against black people exists, and another group thinks systemic racism against white people exists, and no one's minds are changed.

I could argue that it's bad children were killed and there should be an uproar, but I would say that the uproar should be against the one's who committed the crime, and you would say that it should against the whole BLM movement, and CapnJack would come in with some tirade, then we'd have to unban Realist so he could spout some full on crazy stuff, and we'd be back to where we started. Nothing accomplished. And we'd all be wrong. Every single one of us. Wrong.

I'm simply saying that violent crime has trended upwards since the BLM looting and rioting. The next question is why and a reasonable person would come to a pretty quick answer.

I'm not against protesting police brutality - but that isn't what happened after Floyd. Police brutality quickly got pushed to one side for black lives, which got pushed to one side for 'black queer lives matter' which got pushed to one side for defund the police which then ended up being a push to 'dismantle western institutions and statues'.

BLM was not and is not about improving outcomes for black people (this is pretty clear given crime stats since the looting). It's a marxist organisation looking to change the way America (and other western nations) are run.

I do agree with your sentiment that it feels like this argument just ends up with headbutting your head against a wall non stop.

But that is only so while people maintain their rigid ideological positions. If people argue based on facts and reason then there is some hope for better outcomes.
