The "R U OK ?" Thread

Just realised I have managed to stay a full year out of gaol AKA St Vincent's. First time since getting sick back in 2012.

I was released on bail on the 15th of December last year and today's the 16th.

PS next goal is I'm making it 2 years on the outside.

I did some blood tests the other day. I go to my haematologist on Christmas Eve to get the results. Then I will have a better idea.

Generally feel OK, but getting really depressed some days. Also, STILL waiting to hear from the Gastroenterologist about that appointment (re the internal bleeding).

Thanks for checking on me. Hopefully I have some encouraging news soon.
Looking forward to hearing that good news. Depression is an ass, sometimes worse than the other struggles we face. All I know is you are warrior. We are always here for you brother.

Its ok to have issues, its ok to have problems but some people insist on being smart ass every chance they get.
If someone doesn't like you do they have to try and incite society?
Sorry I dont deal with witch hunts real well, their versions are way off.

Update:

I saw my Haematologist on Christmas Eve.

My Iron level is on the low side of normal. I have to remain on supplements.

The CML Leukemia and Hodgkin's Lymphoma appear to remain in remission.

I still haven't heard from the Gastroenterologist to investigate the suspected internal bleeding (and subsequent low Iron). So, old mate is sending through another referral.

I apparently have a heart murmur that requires an ultrasound and further investigation. So, a referral is being sent to a heart specialist.

My next round of blood tests and consultation with the Haematologist is in 3 months.

So, some of the big issues are going ok for now, but he keeps finding new things to keep the circus going.

Aside from all that, I have a large lipoma that requires surgery. I wasn't able to get it done while I was on chemo, because of the infection risk. Now old mate doesn't want to get involved, so I have to find my own surgeon.

FFS

Stay tuned for further tales of my ongoing adventures.

Damn brother, I am so sorry to read all this.

I wish I can come up with words of comfort, but I'll just stick to what I know...

You are a fighter, you have have proved this and keep proving it with every speed bump. God gives His toughest missions to his toughest soldiers, and you're one hellova soldier!

You are always in my prayers and if you can take comfort in this fact, know that I and all of us on here have you're back and cheering you on every step of your path.

Stay strong my brother, God bless you, keep you and guide you forever.

@Bulldog Wrestler

Sad to read about your other health issues.

Re your heart murmur, it may have been caused by the low iron. I have low iron, but I don't take tablets as that interferes with my heart medication.

Re the lipoma how big is it.

A general practitioner (GP) can perform surgical removal of a lipoma at their practice. However, they may also refer a patient to a surgical specialist.

Great news about CML Leukemia and Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Could it be low magnesium? I know my body uses it like no tomorrow. I currently take 6 magnesium forte tablets a day.
