Still the horniest looking aircraft I have ever laid eyes on, the SR71 Blackbird.

View attachment 20241

Designed by a guy in the 50's with a slide rule, capable of Mach 6 (supposedly) with a ceiling of 82,000 feet. It would leak fuel sitting on the runway as it was designed deliberately with gaps in the fuselage that would close as it reached operating height and temperature.
At 3,529km/hr it can get you places fast, I reakon id spill my beer on take of though

I read a couple of testimonials from pilots and they all said below Mach 1 these things flew like a house brick, but once above it they cut through the air and the faster you went, the better they flew. One pilot said the centre frame in the window would glow from the friction at higher speeds. Just a beautiful looking aircraft.

Seen one of these when I was 10 at the Edwards Air Force Base in California.

Bloody awesome piece of machinery

One of my friends is a baggage handler for Qantas at Brisbane and he takes some cool photos. He took a photo of this plane last time Iron Maidan toured Oz. I'll try and find the photo he posted on Facebook. Bruce Dickinson was not the pilot however when it arrived at Brisbane.
Found the photo of Ed Force 1 in Brisbane. It was actually from the 2011 tour.

Speaking of band planes: Guns N’ Roses B767 in MEL in 2017. Saw them play in SYD 2 nights earlier.
