Everyone keeps saying if Averillo was there things would have been different..

He would have backed up better in attack when we made breaks but defensively, do people forget that last week he stood there and watched Ilias score even though Averillo got to the ball first? Or how he let the ball bounce and stood there again for one of their last tries?

I like Averillo and he's doing well for a fullback that's had only a few games but he still has his flaws and does questionable things defensively where he doesn't put his body on the line enough..

Indeed some people have got far too carried away with Jake I saw someone say we win by 40 if he played(obviously pissed as) :tearsofjoy:

Yeah I like him and he's doing pretty well but I'm surprised more people weren't critical of him for those two plays last week which were Dufty-esque in terms of not putting your body on the line.

The first or was miscommunication, the second one was fine and wasn't his fault.

The first one with the ball in the in-goal like that he has to make the ball his regardless. He needs to show more urgency in those situations. Hopefully he learns from it..

It was miscommunication, both he or JAC could've got the ball and if only one of them was there the ball is probably put dead. Nothing to be too worried about. Worry about Burton's terrible kicking game.

That was me, and we probably would have.

Titans only scored via kicks, and Averillo is much faster than Casey, and far more aware where the ball is in play at all times.

You'd have to think he was good for 1 or 2 tries today as well.

Remember that we went over another 2 or 3 times today only to have tries disallowed.

Tino was the 3rd man in during Origin. Gagai is public enemy Number One in reality.

Besides everyone loves Burton, he's just a likeable player!

Haha. I'm worried about how people are trying to find a way to talk shit about him after he had two tries, a try assist and was great defensively.

Jac was closer, I think he waiting for jac to get it. Anyways even the best fullbacks get caught out every now and then.

Avo is doing pretty good considering he’s just started playing 1 he’ll improve the more he plays there and seems to be putting in effort to learn the position. I definitely think it would of been a different result today with him.

He was very good but his kicking game was absolutely putrid, would've been a too class performance if he even got it close to on point.

Like I said, he's doing well. But everyone is critical of Casey and rightly so. Averillo still has work to do defensively too. I'd much rather Averillo though. Just think he has to improve in that area on certain plays before we assume he'll be the long term fullback, that's all. But he's shown enough good signs in attack to be excited about.

He had a few decent kicks early on. One which we got the escort penalty for was good and he had another pinpoint bomb we almost scored off.. Other than that he had some ordinary kicks, especially the one grubber that he kicked dead by a mile.

I'm sure the Burton haters (not you) will find a way to fixate on the few bad kicks and ignore all the great things he did today and the improvement he showed in defence..

It's becoming a bit of a major issue though, teams are starting sets far too high upfield and I feel it's a big factor as to why we're conceding so many easy points. It's such an easy thing to fix for him though, just a worry that nothing has been done about it so far..
