Scam messages

Because so many people are in lockdown and buying items on line, the scammers see a potential bonanza knowing so many will have orders placed through the majors like Amazon. I've had quite a few accounts cancelled that I don't have, and been having issues with orders I haven't placed.
If it's not a number I recognise, I let it go to voice mail - they always hang up without leaving a message.

I haven't heard from Nicole for a while. She must have dumped me.

I keep getting the email about them having hacked my PC and they'll expose my porn site usage to my friends...sucks to them as I don't have any.

I've been getting calls and messages for a while now. Sometimes I get them several times a day for a few days then nothing for a week or so then back with the calls and messages. Pisses me off more so as I am a night shift worker so during the day is when I sleep and these ***** wake me with their bullshit calls it fucking annoying.

Yep as others have said, set your phone so it only rings when you have the number saved.
If you answer they know the number is active and you’ll get hammered even more

More seriously, I get maybe one dodgy call or text every two or three months. Assume the scammers have been sold lists of numbers obtained from retail mailing lists and similar sources. Same as I have burner email addresses for anything I buy online which conceal my real email, I never leave my mobile number on any website unless it’s a well trusted source and even then if they have to ask more than once it doesn’t seem right. It’s a shame it’s the world we live in but the key in my experience is not to feed the machine…

I get phone calls ”from Amazon” about an order for an Iphone 11 on my account and am asked to press 1 to speak to a consultant, which I always do.

Generally the “consultant” is named John Smith or similar and I then introduce myself as Virat Kholi Or Bishan Bedi. If we get past that (sometimes I’m told to get fucked and hung up on at this point), I explain to them I’ve received my IPhone 11, am very happy with it and am speaking to them on it now.

This really fucks them up. Nothing on the script for that.
