So whats actually going on? Did Souffs stuff up somewhere along the line and Suaalii basically decided he doesn't want to have anything to do with them, or have Chooks done a Bonkos/Barba thing and gotten into the kids head?

Also, what are the odds on the NRL changing the rules regarding age for NRL once Suaalii is signed with the chooks?
The Roosters gifted them Latrell Mitchell so they owe us one.

Didn't think the Roosters saw things in a quid pro quo kinda way. If so, when are we going to get something coming back our way for Mason, O'Meley, SBW, Anasta, Nate Myles?

And given all of the above played Origin or better while at the Dogs, Flanagan hardly counts...

So he goes from demanding 600k plus a season to being happy to sign with the Roosters on a development deal? Sounds about right.. Nothing to see here..

Never mind he could start when eligible at other clubs and has been demanding to play fullback. But of course he's happy to stay in reserves at the Roosters behind Teddy for years instead of playing for the Wallabies or starting for another NRL team.. Makes sense..

I'm sure the media and Roosters fans will point out that the Roosters are the best club for his development. How did that work out for Flanagan? Or all of the young Roosters forwards that were playing well this year before they signed $BW and kicked those players to the curb?

What about Paul Dunn, Joe Reaiche, Rod Silva, Sam Perrett and Dylan Napa ?
i reckon we ended up even over the years in terms of poaching players.

Yup, that sounds like a typical Roosters trade.

We got Joe Reaiche who played one game in 1981 and never saw rep honours, you got Willie Mason. How about we start looking for players in the last 20 years who would have been playing in your first grade team if they'd stayed with you, but came to us instead?

Paul Dunn didn't play reps until after he started with us. Silva never played reps, and he only came to us after being left out of first grade for half a season. Perret a similiar thing. And as far as Napa is concerned, you can have him back.

We joke and all, but this kind of thing is exactly why fans of other clubs are certain that the chooks are cheating the cap. Can't blame a player who has a limited time span for earning money out of the game for deciding to cash in on bondi brown paper bags...

Unfortunately Dennis Tutty put the kibosh on transfer fees in the 1970s. He won a court challenge against the NSWRL when the Tigers refused to let him go to another club (might have been Penrith??) Unless his new club paid a transfer fee even though he was out of contract.

That has nothing to do with the soccer transfer system. In soccer you can leave for free when your contract is up. I'm talking about transfer fees for players that want to move while still under contract.

Joe Reaiche was an outstanding winger who was desperately unlucky to miss selection on the 1982 kangaroo tour. He once scored 3 tries in a match marking Eric Grothe who said that Joe was his toughest opponent. In 1983 he was actually a shadow player for NSW in Origin. A very talented underrated utility who should have played for Australia.

Yep, Joe Reaiche was good for that 1 game, Napa had us on the front pages for weeks & Sam Perrett we only bought so we could buy that future international brother of his - what's his name?

Unlucky to miss the 1982 Kangaroo team after playing 2 first grade games that year. When he scored those 3 tries, was it in a trial or mid-week match? He scored 5 tries in his first grade career & no multiples. And in 1983 he only played 1 1st grade game. Yep he was a star!

Thanks for Rod Silva. Was always a favourite. Paul Dunn, Joe Reaiche I don't even recall. Sam Perrett was a consistent solid winger, Dylan Napa is yet to live up to the hype.

So let's say on value of their contribution.
Anasta = Silva
O'Meley = Still waiting on a like for like replacement. Will accept Hargreaves as a like for like intimidating front rower.
Mason= can't really think of a second rower you have that's a match in value I'd like. Will accept an IOU note for now.

Don't forget Nate Myles who they signed from us after only a season or two during that same period.

Since when do the Roosters ask????? What's the bet when they do sign him, in a few years they will tell everyone that THEY developed him. Souths offering 2 million but nek minit Roosters sign him for considerably less.

Souths are not going to accept the ridiculous demands of the young fella and that is why the negotiations have come to a shuddering halt...of course the Roosters have not been in his ear at all.................................He will sign with the Roosters without any of the clauses he is seeking from Souths simply because???/

Channel Nine league reporter Danny Weidler revealed details of the youngster's "remarkable" contract demands this week.

Who's the kid think he is with all the demands. Acting like he is something already when so far it's all hype and potential that surrounds him. He could turn into a flop come first grade.

There's talk roosters will shop around Crichton to fit the kid in along with other signings. If true he would be a luxury signing. However with he'd likely block Topines pathway in time and considering angus talked about wanting to go back to rugby at some point I'd say he's a risky option. However Flanagan / Crichton / Cotric would be immense
