Simple fact is we as consumers need both playstation and xbox to fighting each other for supremacy.. if we were to lose one of them, there's no doubt the other would rest on their laurels having the monopoly and the consumer would suffer with a inferior product...

If you buy Assassin's Creed Odyssey for PS4 or Xbox One you get a free upgrade to PS5/Xbox Series on release day.

They just confirmed that on PS5 you have the option between running the game at 4K 30fps or 1080/1440 at 60fps. At least it will at release. Not sure if they'll patch it to 4K 60fps later.

On Xbox Series X the game will run at 4K 60fps on release.

Glad I pre-ordered it on Xbox

From a tech perspective Xbox is more powerful than PS5 though probably marginal in real terms. I have LG C9 so I am ready for proper 4k and a big upgrade from original xbox one for me.

Gampass though is the real winner I reckon. Likely PS will have more exclusives but personally not that keen on too many of them and will have a shed load of games to play via the pass.

The anchor for the xbox is the series s, when developing games they have to account for the less powerful model and hence tone down their games.

This is not an issue for playstation development as both models have the same specs.

Ps now? (I think?) has a lot of previous titles available to play and I believe about 90% of ps4 games are backwards compatible.

Ps5 has more advanced technology tied to it, ie. Dual Sense controller, 3d sound, plus 5he new vr stuff. I tend to think it has a more intuitive ui as well.

Ps5 apparently has also implemented a new storage system that compresses your games when saving them, similar to winzip does zip file formatting, meaning you'll get a lot more storage usage with the allotted storage.

Yeah I've decided to go with the series x. I think it's the most powerfull and I mainly play multiplatform games like cod and battlefield. Sony has the best exclusives at the moment, something Microsoft is trying to rectify with its recent purchase of zenimax. Either way it's a good time to be a gamer.
