Preseason 2025

I think most of the final opposed session looked pretty much as most expected. Kiks wasn’t there but obviously he is in the side.

Montoya played Left wing with Wilson in the second string team. which I guess is the position with most questions around it.

Yeah as I drove off I was kicking myself I didn’t look who was on the left wing. I think Montoya starts rd 1 there.

I didnt. Thought it was pathetic actually.
Now Reed does the same to the point where it costs us in games.
I like Reed. Just wish he would cut out the bullshit, trying to milk penalties etc concentrate on being a better footballer.
And now he has a reputation, so if anything is happening & Mahoney is in the vicinity, he gets penalised. That's the way refs work now.

Maybe an option we could look at for future fullback is that young kid De Groot from the titans.. hes looked sharp on his couple of NRL games,. He's unsigned for 2026 and Kini is locked in for years.. Des wants to move him to centre but the kid wants to play fullback.. could be an interesting (and cheaper) option than Sua and might be attainable as Bellyache probably wont let Sua go anyway...

De Groot does look a good prospect he moves like David Peachey.

We already feel a long way ahead of this time last year. We don't have to think about Taafe and Hutch taking up two spine spots, and we've at least got a lot more depth for our bench props. We know Critta is a great Captain and Ciro can coach. It has to be Sitili for Salmon on the bench too, giving us an elite back-row rotation.

Already got tickets for our 2nd trial at Redcliffe v the broncs. Hurry up!

Gotta love the hard work the squad is putting in this preseason and how food a shape they appear to be in. If Topine was involved in those sessions with carrying the containers of water he'd probably file another lawsuit.

Oddly enough if Jackson had of just copped what went down, his wholehearted playing style as a small forward would have likely seen him in the mix for a spot in the 17.

Ive planted the seed! :tearsofjoy:

No thanks. He's already 22 & couldn't win the spot ahead of Kini. We need to go after a top 8 fullback not another fullback that can't start for his own team.
Saw Jamma talking on a podcast about Lehi Hopoate yesterday, he is a fb in waiting no idea what's doing with Turbo really(i.e don't think he fits as a 6 personally)but he may be blocking the young fella for a while
Kid is maybe a bit light bodied but definitely a super talent?
