OFFICIAL | POST-GAME Pre Season Challenge #2 Vs Brisbane

It’s a trial. The main purpose of the day was to get through unscathed. We did that.

People freaking about the attack. Ciraldo literally said this week, early rounds attack not a priority, all about defence and connecting. No expansive play. Did people really expect us to come out today with new structures and throw the ball around? Seriously?

Our defensive grit was there. The boys looked fit. Everyone needs to calm the fuck down. Priority all pre season has to be all cylinders firing round 1 v Dargons. Not today. Relax

We got rolled through the middle and were only kept together by Mann. Our bench is a massive worry and that’s not even getting to our attack.

Brisbane will roll through the middle of most teams this year. Funny how the same pack today, and bench, smashed Brisbane up last year 41-16. We played expansive footy that day and that’s our style of footy. We were never playing that way today.

Did you seriously was us to play that way, under conditioned, get the win, but hav Critta and Xerri do hammies, gone for 3 months. But hey, we played expansive footy and we won a meaningless game. Is that what’s ***** wanted today?

He's a laid-back Luke
He needs some Ciro/Gus counselling for sure or the team needs some key positional changes if he can't step up this year bc his level of involvement won't be enough to match the top teams.

That Brisbane team last year lost 10 or 11 straight when we beat them though lol

Learnt 6 things from the trial
1. Six again rule,,,I got NFI. Speeds up game
2. Play the ball rule...I got NFI. Slows down game.
3. Penalties.. I got NFI. Refs discretion wins current game.
4. On report...I got NFI. Refs discretion wins next game.
5. Wingers play like second rowers, who play like centres, who play like 5/8's, who play like locks, who play like props. So WTF's a utility?
6. Reece Walsh = Commentator Jizz

O'Neill is ready in my opinion. I think Sexton gets first shot this year though given he had the position last year, would be almost unethical to drop Sexton to start the year. Ciraldo is obviously giving him a chance to prove he is worth the 4 year contract he is demanding on big $.
Hutcho got 8 weeks leeway last year and Sexton should get that as well to prove his worth. Otherwise it should be fair game that O'Neill or Tia gets to have a crack at that position if they are killing it in the lower grades.

We were.. Haas and Carrigan puffed out.

The game also went when CC just played Hughes and Mann basically the whole half then unleashed Morrin, Hayes and Hayward at the same time for fcuk all reason.

He needs to sort his bench out ASAP!
CC has had some dubious bench rotations in the past and if a trial is anything to go by, nothing's changed this year.

It's a trial lol

You people need to settle down

Manly aren't worried after losing to the Panthers NSW Cup team

We shouldn't be worried about this
You are correct in what your saying, I just can't believe i let myself get so fired up for a trial games especially when we started coming back, maybe its part of being a Canterbury fan lol

Huh

That HIA sin bin rule is going to cause an absolute up roar from Ricky lol. Meanwhile we will bend over and take it.

Players can lie about their condition re HIA and force someone to be sin binned. These rules ... wow. More and more room for cheating.
"This is only an experiment from the NRL though and won’t be added to the rule book in 2025"

What a stupid experiment. We won't see the exploit hia/bin rule in 2025. Probs 2026 if vlandys is still in charge.

I think he was just sussing out a few things with a few players.

The fact he threw on Hayward, Hayes and Morrin who are probably fighting for the same jersey says something... Probably wanted to see who would make the most impact and to be fair i dont think any of them stood out more than the other.
