JAC replacement. Enari Tuala?

I reckon Wilson has been agitating for a release to go to eels and they will release him.
it’s just the feeling I’m getting after seeing this signing.
Wilson is getting his big chance, Tuala is bound to bolster NSW cup

And that's about it really.

Feet for hands and has no speed
I’m not sure why people only focus on yardage. Wingers need speed and finishing ability. No use having a winger with great yardage (like Skelton) when they can’t finish off half opportunities (e.g. Skelton v Manly had more than half an opportunity to ground the ball)

I dont see why Skelton is/was made the scapegoat for not scoring against Manly....

It was a 50-50 play at best. He didn't nail it but it was far from the final play of the game....

People like to find 1 play to blame for 80mins of football.

Well here's one....our halves fucked up and didnt ice the game when they should have.

Or Tracey fucked up multiple times in that game....

skelton was shit against England, cost them the game with his errors, he is not a first grade player and Gus Acknowledged this

Highlighting the point that any competent winger scores that try. You can’t make those kind of errors in this competition. A few weeks earlier he was taken down a centimetre from the line by Koula, a guy half his size. How the hell can a guy the size of Skelton be stopped that close to the line by a lightweight? Proves my point there’s more to being a winger than just “making metres”

Melbourne have players "on the tools" at the start off every season, JAC is used to it.

Team First

If memory serves, Bellamy has them don't to ground them in a bit of reality. As much as training would be very hard work. It's generally not soul jarringly boring monotony to be preparing for the sport you love.

He does it every year with his cousin, its just media trying to make something out of nothing.
8 seconds of carrying a bucket instead of standing on your feet 13 hours a day like the rest of us media bullshit

No doubt about your last line.
Some wingers are simply good at what they do.

Guys like Feldt and El Masri were able to prolong their careers due to footy smarts. Their bodies were aging but they substituted speed with smarts.

Grounding the ball acrobatically 1 handed with cover defence coming across isnt something all wingers can do. So i dont really blame Skelton for missing that one - even though it would have given us a handy lead in that game

The panthers have set the ‘blueprint’ re wingers. Their middle forwards basically only take one hit up every two sets as both wingers will take one hit up in a set plus Edwards and one of the centre possibly which mean one of the middles gets a ‘rest’. A lot of teams have resorted to this game plan, or Yeo can ball play instead of doing a yard hit up.
Ado-Carr beefed himself up as he was not making the yardage metres out of his own end as per To’o, Kiraz etc etc. Feel the modern game has gone this way now. 3-4 tackles of a set being taken by your back 5 to conserve petrol of the middles.

Being able to finish definitely helps and being good in the air also, but basically I feel coaches now want wingers to eat metres on kick return and first tackles of sets

GF Wingers were Too & Turuva VS Walbrick & Coates .. Can Wilson Kiraz Montoya Tuala step up to that level
Kiraz yes
Wilson maybe yes
Sua in time yes
The others…… NO WAY!!
JAC’s timing fk’d us with the Skelton result…..

Finally someone gets it.

I know it’s boring but all CC would be thinking about is play zero on kick return ( Kiraz or Montoya) then tackle one is a hit up from the other winger depending on what side they kick to.

Tackle two Tracey scoot from dummy which is hopefully off of a quick play the ball.

Tackle three the forwards are back on side so let’s say Curran.

Which gets us out of our own end and in a position to attack with play 4 and 5.

All of this doesn’t happen if your wingers are getting pushed backwards in yardage like Fox did and Wilson sometimes does…

Competition for spots……I love it.
Clubs must have quality competition in all positions, successful clubs do,
It's never easy to replace quality players none the less we could end up with a young up an comer that could make us forget JAC,
It's been long coming but finally we are in position to spend more of the cap on supper quality SPINE & PROPS

You can also look at it the other way, when it comes time to making a break or scoring a try, players like the fox(to a slightly lesser extent wilson) turn opportunities into points due to their speed. Whereas a snail like montoya, just look at his try scoring record, it is shocking. I guess this is where the panthers are very lucky, their wingers are the whole package, can make yardage and score tries

Agree 100%
Leaves Hayward and Mann to be creative in opposition half rather then have to make tough carries. Think our middles stats weren’t too bad this year on the back of Kiraz, Xerri and Tracey starting our sets off. Kikau and Preston are damaging off a ball player on the edge not slugging it out in the middle
