Their enemies were the Koga Ninja. They were no match for Monkey.
Monkey? Pfffft!!! You jest ;)

Shintaro and Tombei the "Japanese Dynamic Duo".

"Our" star knives never missed in the backyard.

It was always Tombei's fault till Shintaro came along to save the day lol.

How many of us went to and from school in ine of these?
I used to go from Punchbowl to Canterbury stations on the way to school and would always look a Belmore Sports ground on the way home to see if the Doggys were training...
Sitting on a turned sideways Globite school port, near the open doors for a breeze during the summer. Always trying to see if any players were training on Belmore oval.

I commuted to Canterbury Boys High from Belmore between 1961 and 1965. Used to hang around at Canterbury station after school, to watch the parade of steam and diesel freights roll through.

I could walk down of an evening to watch the team train.

It was a bugger to try and jump UP into a tree.
Koichi Ose (born Kazunari Ose )played Shintaro and was a cult hero and was mobbed when he came to Australia for a tour of live shows. Loved the show...

Those, and the Donald Duck money boxes the Bank of NSW had. I cut myself a few times trying to open the buggers with a teller's knife.
I got back at them when we had target practice for our .22 calibre pistols.
Oh yeah, I totally forget about the Donald Duck money boxes! That jogged my memory.
