Maybe they just don’t want to upset the tobacco companies. It’s pretty pathetic and clearly not about health
The tobacco companies should start selling vapes.

Surprised none of them already have.

100% mate. This isn’t your standard nanny state overreaction. Coincidentally there will be a 15% tax increase to tobacco too hmmm
Yep witch will generate an extra 3.6 billion dollars in tobacco tax revenue absolutely nothing to do with the health or welfare of Australian citizens.

ATM vape manufacturers can’t be regulated by Government that’s why it’s a much cheaper alternative but the plan is to regulate vape products through pharmacies and one other company and these vape products will be manufactured by Guess who? Big tobacco!!
And the said single company that has the license to supply the vape products is owned by an ex health department employee. The whole thing is a fucking rort from top to bottom and it’s got nothing to do with looking after anyone’s health young or old.

I’m attempting to quit smoking for good starting today.
I don’t think I’m addicted to smoking?
I think it’s more the habit and ritual of doing it, which is addictive?
You're addicted

Btw I should be able to stop no problem.
I quit using heavier drugs and alcohol so this should be no problem?

people say just ween yourself off it?
I say just stop cold turkey!
My grandfather went cold turkey from smoking a pack of winfield reds almost every day.

Cold turkey works for a lot of people. I know people who quit, yet now they vape. Other than the money saving, no difference at all. They’d have been better going cold turkey

Cold turkey (or close to cold turkey, rapidly reducing use over a few days or a week) does work for plenty of people. If you are trying it and it isn't working, that is the time to go talk to some professionals (GP, Psychologist).

I'm not going to vape.
Imo you haven't quit if you substitute one habit/addiction for another!

How many people do you know who have quit smoking pot, but now go to the pub everyday for 5 schooners?

At the moment I'm only 14 hours without smoking.

I don't really have any urge to want to smoke at the moment.
Hoping it stays that way?

A mate of mine quit years ago by change to the nicotine gum.

He then got addicted to the gum, which was an annoying as his smoking.

Haha assuming most of that was sleep?? It’s the habit to though like ya said. Having one for the sake of it. That’s harder I reckon. Cravings are meant to go quicker than people think

It's all mind over matter!
You just need to trick your primal instincts and you will win!
