This is the perfect example of why stats can be misleading. That yardage total is insane but he was woeful last night and offers absolutely nothing from fullback.

I'm sick of watching and talking about the same rubbish over and over again. You'd think the coach would be too but obviously not...

The clown came out after the game and said he was happy with the effort and blamed the refs... There's zero responsibility from top to bottom at the club.

Hopoate is not FG standard at all. He has little skill and his mistakes outweigh his good points. He is to ponderous to be a centre.
Maybe reggies might suit him as he wont have to tackle.

Hopoate is too slow for any backline position in first grade, as is Holland, yet both have been resigned! enough said

I reckon Richie Kennar will make a great fullback but no one is even considering this. I don't think richie would mind. Richie has the size, speed and skills to make a great fullback. You have my word for it. Money back guarantee

Size, Speed and Skill has no place in Des's team

He is a centre as well. We can't keep trying to convert players into positions that they are not familiar with. I like your optimism but we need a specialist 1 6 7 and 9 before we can plug this titanic

Now first of all Hoppa had a terrible start. But I just had a look at the stats and it said he had 27 runs for 327m. At first I was like WOW!!! But then you look at his runs. He didn't do much. He lacks enough pace to bust a line. He doesn't get involved. He is not a first grade FB.

And also about Fualalo. He started the game and I thought he was strong. But once he came off, he didn't come back on did he? Why is that?! Why leave Tolman on for 80 instead of letting Fualalo sit on the bench for 50 mins.

Had enough of this shit. Hasler has gone nuts. Our game plan stinks. We have not evolved. We are so fucking slow it's not funny. We are boring to watch.

The worse thing for me though is the emotional attachment. There is none left anymore. Last night I dragged myself to the game. Couldn't get into it. Couldn't get excited. Literally just sat there shaking my head because we are literally the most boring and the dumbest footy team in the comp. Blind Freddy can see our problems. All the fans know it, everyone knows it except the ***** des and dib.

I'm calling it now. We won't win another game all year!!!
Mate, Hoppa played his heart out last night and I'm wondering whether you were asleep during the game. He through his heart and soul into there kick returns and was sound under the high ball. What do you want for f.cks !!!

No speed
No positional play
Hardly catches it on the full and when he does he goes straight to ground
No footwork
No passing game
No support play
No last line of defence heroics
He's effort on mamalo last week was amateurish
I didn't expect him to stop him cold but that effort was Saturday park footy standard

He's not safe and not remotely close to it
He's as safe as a house being built in mount druitt with no locks or Windows!
Just about sums Hoppa up. I would experiment with Montoya at FB. He is big, quick and tackles OK. Mbye to Centre. He is quick, but dumb.
He wont have to think much in the centres. Maybe Hoppa to one wing. Either that or to the reggies. Lichaa to reggies, Woolford to be given a go.

Hasler the flop doesn't know that certain players play in certain positions. We haven't had a specialist full back since Barba. Fuck all the dickhead does is fill in the positions with other players. Fucks sake Des just fuck off already. It's like filling an English teacher to fill in for science. Reynolds is naturally a hooker. Mbye is naturally a 5/8th. Frawly is naturally a half back. Licha is naturally a reserve grader. ..... Lol

Even when Reynolds was injured, what does the idiot do. Put frawly at 5/8th and make him look like a dickhead.

We're sick and tired of watching our club go down. Fuck des and fuck dib. Give us some dogs blood back. I burn every time I watch other fullbacks and halves just entertain their fans. Just fuck off already des. Just fuck off

He had to play his heart out after the stupid pass he thew. And I may as well have been asleep because thats how boring we play now. Yes he did take high balls well and threw his body into it.

Look at the elite FBs of today's game. Slater, Boyd and Tedesco. Slater is the elite FB. He has ball playing ability and speed. Melb have looked so good this year with him at the back. Even QLD look so much better. Constant danger on kick returns. Boyd lacks pace, but makes up for it with his ball playing ability. Quite often gets involved in broncos attack, pretty much is a second five eight. And lastly Tedesco. He oozes speed. His speed is his biggest weapon along with his footwork. He can use his strength close to the line. He lacks ball playing ability. But he can bust a line when he wants to.

All 3 of these fullbacks can bust a game wide open. But when you look at Hoppa. Yeah he's safe. But he doesn't have that bit extra like the three guys I mentioned. He doesn't have speed, he rarely gets involved in our attack. Rarely busts the line open. He's a safe Fullback. But in this day and age you need more from your Fullback.

Put simply we need more from him then what he's offering in attack.

That's why they call him big floppa. Throw your hands in the air cos he's a slow centre playing fullback.

Everyone keeps calling for Hoppa to move to the centres but he should really move into the backrow imo. Yes i'm serious. We have seen Sione and Yeo transistion to from centre to the backrow with success recently, Hoppa should be the next.

In the backrow his speed (lol), footwork and ball skills would be considered a strength, but in the backs they would be considered below average. Physically he has a frame far more suited to the forwards rather than the backs these days, just like the rest of his family. He would also have no problems running the ball into the meat of the defence as he does it more than anyone at fullback for us and makes decent metres after contact. Defensively he would also be fine, his decision making in the centres was no issue and his front on defence is good.

Hoppa too the backrow asap.
