News Harawira-Naera reportedly released

Interestingly Corey has actually unfollowed the raiders on his instagram and still follows the bulldogs, however I’m not sure that means anything.
 
What shits me about this is the NRL deregistered the players so what the fuck was the club gonna do but sack them.

this whole situation is a total mess .
I was a huge fan of CHN and I backed him on the kennel but as far as I’m concerned now he’s a total fucking loser

Though I’m extremely disappointed in the management yet again.

This is a huge cross against them. We lose arguably one of our top 3 players and get absolutely nothing out of it from a top 8 team? Fuck it any team would of done something better than that.

Klemmer shit was woeful enough. This is terrible. Pathetic. They need to be removed ASAP.

wish it was like the old days where a team would really whack a former player. But even that doesnt happen anymore.

Agreed mate, we could have worked this deal better. But, like you said, fuck him! While he’s a great attacking option, he’s defensive efforts are a little soft and when we play the raiders next we should run at him all day. Hopefully the money saved is spent wisely on someone who wants to be at the club and giveS his 100% each wk.

CHN was important as he was our strike forward. It's why we struggle to bust in the 20 this year. Where are we going to get a new strike forward with good footwork from now? Shipway from hunter Comp? Please.

we now need a second rower, prop, hooker and maybe a half/fullback. We are way behind the 8 ball.

I think you may be missing the fact that a lawyer, doctor, accountant etc has ~40 years after they graduate to earn $big, an NRL player has maybe ~10 years after they "graduate". So they have to maximise their earnings for that short period of time, because after that the vast majority of them have nothing much to earn an income from. A %couple end up in the media somewhere, a %couple end up coaching, in administration etc and the rest may have used their "education" payments to actually set themselves up for a career after football. The 90% end up driving trucks, cleaning up garbage, laying bricks or digging ditches. I don't begrudge a professional sportsperson earning while they can, because it doesn't last that long.

How many years of schooling and being offsiders do the higher class (doctors, lawyers, bankers, etc) need to earn anything near that amount? What are the consequences for these people when they fuck up and bring their organisation into the lime light for the wrong reasons?

They could have stood by the players or look after their welfare.

Absolutely. The club probably assumed there was 0% chance he would win the appeal so they didn't want to waste any time and energy on it but they should still have done so from a mental health perspective. Piss weak from management.....again
