Totally agree , look at what's happening with politicians resigning because of their ancestory. That's beureacratic madness
Agreed. It's a stupid clause in the Constitution. The worst part is that there's an amendment that states that they can still remain in parliament if they are directly representing the Queen. It's a flaw that needs to be updated.

Why would he care? It's not his money. His money is safely locked up in a bank. All $200,000,000 of it.

What pisses me off is that Labor would've legalised this shit when they came in anyway, so here we've gone ahead and fast-tracked it at the cost of $122,000,000. What a waste of money that could have been better spent elsewhere.
Even worse is the reality it isn't really a fast tracking because the stupid bloody bill the Libs made is overbloated and designed to fail. Obstructionists!

Interesting facts:

- NSW had the most voters in the survey but the lowest percentage of Yes voters (57.8% Yes / 42.2% No from 4,111,200 voters)

- ACT had the least voters in the survey but the highest percentage of Yes voters (74% Yes / 26% No from 236,979 voters)

And Tony Abbott didn' it get his "moral victory" of 40%.

I think most Australians, regardless of what side on the fence you sat on, just want this over with now so we can get on with things, you know, like booting dual citizens out of parliament:grinning:

Two electorates in Western Sydney returned round 70% No.

133 electorates out of 150 went went.

It's a statistcian wet dream :grinning:

Other interesting factoids:

- The highest voter turnout was in the 70-74 age group with 89.6% of voters in that age group voting

- The lowest voter turnout was the 25-29 age group with 71.9% of voters in that age group voting

But 18/19 year olds apparently were quite high.

Also interesting was the very low turnout in the NT.

Funny thing regarding this and one for the Conservatives. The areas that voted No were predominantly Middle Eastern and Asian areas, which suggests that if we followed the Conservative anti-immigration stance then the Yes vote would have been a lot higher.
