It was a bit of a freak incident, with a leg under and then another landing on him with weight. Maybe you need to look up where the syndesmosis ligament is located and what it does. Not at all likely to be in any way related to other injuries. Toleman has had a syndesmosis injury in the past, last year so did Elliot, same as Wakeham earlier this year. I could also mention Lichaa and Barba who have had syndesmosis injuries in their time. No imagination required, just an injury that happens to NRL players, far too often unfortunately.

FWIW, like most ligament tears, it's a bitch of an injury, unstable (requires surgery to re attach) or stable (no surgery) takes a long time to heal and needs careful management.

Go Dogs
Yeah, this injury could have happened to anyone. But various injuries always happen to Foran. And he's always out for a long period of time..

If you can't see that he is injury prone, a liability and his body has deteriorated to the point that it can't handle half a season, let alone a full season of first grade, then you're completely oblivious to the facts..

The club is paying a million a year to a player who doesn't play more than half the games and you still argue that it's not an issue????

Foran has to be one of the worst recruitments in NRL history.

If this is true I agree medically retired immediately fucking joke.

What the actual fuck? Someone said he said he’s good
To go for this weekend?
Our has given him every chance to since he signed with us and what have we got, the worst investment of any player in the games history (one very good game in two years) we can't keep dreaming.
Our club must now leave no stone upturned to medically retire him, they would be failing in their duty if they did not, and use his money elsewhere.

There is no possible way to medically retire him for this type of injury.

Cue the hate
Good player back at Manly.

Unfortunate run with injuries, which has shut down his career 3 years ago.

Shit signing and hopefully the Dogs tread cautiously from here on in, when signing injury prone players on ridiculous $$$

Our management should be doing everything possible to get rid of Foran from our books as soon as is possible.

If he remains on our books then we are fkd for the next 2 years.

If we could get rid of him then we immediately free up cash to sign a half who isn't injured half the year.

Negligence on our medical staff and trainers for not bringing him off the field?

It would be nice to see some positive news for once.. Hopefully this prompts the club into looking for a long term halves partner for Lewis (unless Cogger stands out) mid season to see what players at other clubs are looking for a shot.

Be aggressive and throw whatever is needed at them to get them over and help turn the club around.

Signing a gun half who is stuck in reserves and signing Robson would help ease the pain..

If and when Foran comes back, they need to release him and pay him out and move forward without him..

How did he finish the match, and run decently enough when he needed to?

Does he really need surgery?

Can it not be managed with a week or two of ice packs and physio?

Did he break any bones?

Do we get some sort of salary cap relief for the remainder of the year, or is that only if a player is ruled out for the year?

I said it as soon as it happened in the game day thread that it was a high grade syndesmosis. Knew he was no chance once it settled, brave to play on... some would argue stupidity. But anyways what's done is done bring on Cogger, hopefully he and Meaney fire and are primed to romp the Knights in magic round
