Bulldogs playmaker Kieran Foran is to undergo surgery for a high ankle sprain, meaning he is likely to miss 10 to 12 weeks.

Foran injured the ankle during the Wests Tigers match and after visiting an ankle specialist today, scans have revealed a high ankle sprain on his right leg that will require immediate surgery.

Bulldogs have suffered a massive injury blow with playmaker Kieran Foran ruled out for up to three months with an ankle injury.

Foran is expected to have surgery in the next 24 hours after sustaining a syndesmosis injury in Sunday’s upset victory over Wests Tigers at Campbelltown.

It’s a cruel twist for the Canterbury-Bankstown five-eighth after submitting his strongest performance in two years last Sunday.

Rookie playmaker Jack Cogger is expected to come into contention for the vacant position in the Bulldogs halves.

I knew they should have pulled him off the field....

IMO most obvious solution is:

6-Cogger
7-Lewis
9-JMK

That sucks for Foran. On the upside Lewis gets to learn how to be the leader for a while.

Wouldnt of happened if they finished off the try movement. Pass to Dutchy on the left hand side. Dutchy had 2 people unmarked to his right when he took the late offload from Okunbor and he went for the hero play because he is under the pump.

He was all heart on Sunday, but I don't see why anyone is surprised. I don't think we'll ever get a full season out of Kieran. Can't fault his attitude this year, though. Sad news.

And we've had several doctors on here trying to tell us that Foran isn't injury prone or how he's just had lots of bad luck with injuries...

It's like playing a game of Operation when it comes to Foran..

For those saying who cares how much he earns, I think it's more than relevant as to how much he earns when your star playmaker and highest paid player can't play more than 10 games a season...

That means we have a million of our cap sitting on the sidelines. Again!

I feel for the guy and he played great on the weekend but those of us with any logic knew it was a matter of time before this happened.

He never just gets a minor injury does he?! I feel sorry for him but his body just can't cope with his style of play.
