Bulldogs playmaker Kieran Foran is to undergo surgery for a high ankle sprain, meaning he is likely to miss 10 to 12 weeks.

Foran injured the ankle during the Wests Tigers match and after visiting an ankle specialist today, scans have revealed a high ankle sprain on his right leg that will require immediate surgery.

He should do the right thing by the club and retire imo. Put the team first and let them move on with the money to be a competitive outfit.
Even if he retires the money will still come off the cap unless he decides to forego the remaining money on his contract which isn’t going to happen.

How many weeks is Wakeham out, same injury?
My understanding is that Wakeham's syndesmosis injury was at the higher end, with ankle instability, which required surgery. Following surgery, no weight bearing for 6 to 8 weeks, of which 3 to 4 weeks is in a moon boot, then rehab for a further 3 to 4 weeks followed by light training and then full contact work. Making a total of around 10 to 12 weeks. If it's rushed then it won't heal properly, making it easier to get re injured.

surely he is not entitled to the remuneration if he is not carrying out his end of the deal. The contract comes to an end and each party is discharged from any further obligation to perform their end of the bargain.

The only way there wouldn’t be any payment for Foran is if he got sacked for a discipline breach or he foregoes any payment.

Same as if you get workers comp payments if you are injured at work.

Fuck the **** I hope he never returns the dud fuck des too for signing him .
To be fair I don't think him having injury problems in the past has anything to do with this injury. His ankle got pretty mangled in that tackle, would have injured anyone. Unlucky bastard on this occassion. Hes always been overpriced though, that I will agree with

Thanks

So basically he’s out for the same amount of time as Foran (12 weeks)

Young guy start of career

Older guy nearing end

Same injury

Same result?

Yes/No

So we paid Foran 1mil for last year...12 games. Doubt he'll play again this year, even if he does it's a max of 13 games again. 2 million+ for 25 games, that's a grand a minute lol.

Nobody would be more shattered by the news than Foran himself. First full preseason in ages, body feeling really good, and then just cops an injury that any other player could.

BIG ask for Cogger this week.

Wakeham is still about a month away odd.

Jesse Marschke not in top 30 so can't get called up.

Still gets included in the Salary Cap, so achieves nothing.
Yeah I know, but it gets rid of the stench of his signing and allows the club to find the long term solution.

Keeping Foran around for him to do the same thing next year is also writing off 2020 and delaying the inevitable.

Bulldogs have suffered a massive injury blow with playmaker Kieran Foran ruled out for up to three months with an ankle injury.
Foran is expected to have surgery in the next 24 hours after sustaining a syndesmosis injury in Sunday’s upset victory over Wests Tigers at Campbelltown.

It’s a cruel twist for the Canterbury-Bankstown five-eighth after submitting his strongest performance in two years last Sunday.

Rookie playmaker Jack Cogger is expected to come into contention for the vacant position in the Bulldogs halves.

I feel sorry for the guy as he has put in 100% and has been the backbone for the team so far this season and last Sunday he was brilliant but a couple of good games and injured again doesn't help this team, understandably injuries happen all the time in league but he has missed too many games for the amount of money he's on, he has to go I don't know how this could be made to happen but this should be the tap on the shoulder.
Fucking hell, just when you think thing's are looking up for the Doggies shit hits the fan yet again, why couldn't it have been Lichshit?
