Well done Dogs. In all honesty, Manly should never have been that close.

We were outplayed tonight and the score flattered Manly. The Dogs were 8-10 points better tonight and Manly had pretty much next to zero in attack in your 20.

I don't know how much ball Manly had but it must have been close to 60%.

About the only thing Manly could complain about is that Reynolds was short. But we got plenty of decisions go our way so fair enough.

Even had Manly won, I still would have been pissed. The early season form has disappeared. Not good signs for Manly.
A bit of honesty. Not to many people would do that & I take my hat off for you!

They applied the law. They didn't think they had the evidence to overturn it. But I feel safe in saying if that if the exact same scenario arises next week and the decision is made the other way, there will be some serious blowing up going on around here.

But regardless, I stand by original assessment. Manly were not the better side and needed 60% of ball to tie it up.

We'll find form again and will need to.
Couldn't disagree with any of that.

I can't recall which game I was watching the other day (Dragons game, I think. Maybe against the Raiders? Not sure...) when the video ref clearly exceeded his authority and overruled a try based on an opinion rather than a fact. Manly were a touch unlucky in that the video refs did their job properly and stuck to the policy of only overruling if no doubt. Other video refs have been so correct with the rulebook.

Once Snake is back on the field, your form will come.

Well my first post so crucify me.
Must confess to not having read previous pages tonight but felt compelled to add my thoughts.

Yes, I took some joy in bulldogs poor early season form, but tonight... WOW.
Dogs have been winning of late without playing too convincingly, but tonight I thought was their best performance this year and on par with their best of last year.

Now, having said that, refs were appalling BUT I guess decisions went both ways so no excuses there.
Did dog jump to get that final penalty? Possibly.
The worst ref decision of the night was that try awarded to dogs - crap!!! well short.
Amazing to think Manly should have been in front after 80 - really did think dogs were better tonight.

Couple of positive thoughts...
Well proud of how Manly did not throw in the towel.
Great to see a brilliant CLEAN game between these two teams.

Yes, I think I'm over the Des defection.

On the two ex Manly players,
T-Rex is improving but wasn't really a force out there tonight.
But he is just the sort of player who could turn up for 10 minutes & win you the GF.
Hodgkinson - I don't get the negative comments on him.
He is really finding great form after some injuries - remember, he was preferred to DCE!

Good luck to dogs... Hope you come second this year:grinning:
The dogs almost lost this game. Look forward to seeing you in the finals!

Reynolds try was the reason behind Benefit Of The Doubt...

BTW was Foran out there at all tonight? Saw DCE heaps but Foran was missing in action from what I could see.

Total respect for you with this post...

We've got a few supporters on here from other clubs that are held in quite high regard around here. You've got to be the Manly supporter here held in high regard, and posts like this show why!

***********Formal complaint by Referees for Manly fans hurling a full can of beer towards them as they walked up the tunnel*************

george rose is mathematically most likely to get hit with a random throw tbh

If you threw a roast chicken on to the field, he would win (mathematically of-course)!

Seriously ? I think you might have been watching another game. Foran was huge and would have been MOM had Manly won.

You kidding me? DCE is the whole reason the game was so close, don't feel sorry for manly tonight, but I do for Daly.

Best part of the game, like I mentioned in another thread is when Des took Graham off the field for a rest and Graham storms up to Dymock and demands to know when he's going back on hahaha, what a fucken legend, that's true heart right there

That was awsome, Hasler had em ready and knew to bolster defence, Hayne tried to do his stop start technicalyathon and give the ball to the Eagles in the first half but we still tackled like finalists, the hits were hard and Hodko's kick was pretty slick from that distance, we are in it.

After watching the game again, there are a few things the referee's missed but noticed when we done them, strips that were just lost, incorrect play the ball, some inside the 10/offside, hand on ball, some late tackles on the kicker, players being blocked/taken/tackled out without the ball (Tolman example), allowing Manly to sleep in the ruck but we weren't allowed to slow it down as they did and alot of decoy runners obstructing general play.

Still happy we won with such bias refereeing and as to Manly you don't bite the hand that feeds you haha

The manly water boy threw it to him when he wasn't looking. Rose likes to get the beers in early, that beer belly won't maintain itself.
