Looks a shoe in for a future Australian captain. Potentially one of the best all rounders we’ve had in years.

A shame CA has gone the same way as other sporting codes and putting politics ahead of the game of cricket.

That and the current, woke Australian captain, make it hard to watch the game anymore.
Why would you want to put so much pressure on someone who is going to have a heavy workload with the bat, probably bowl at least 15 overs an innings and also be captain. We don't want to wear the guy out.

Give it to a specialist player, preferably a middle order batsman

Ok

So you make a claim that most commentators are saying he’s a future captain yet don’t back it up with who just like your PC comments. You’re clearly lacking in substance but you keep going on like your wisden the voice of cricket. Can see why @Doogie enjoys his back and forth with you.
Do you actually read, watch or follow cricket?

If you did you would've heard that, anyway it's pointless talking to someone with a constant chip on their shoulder, with nothing more to offer than garbage.

You do realize the captain has a say on who bowls? "Give it to a specialist player, preferably a middle order batsman". Most are in their late 20's, early '30's, so I'm not sure who would be a viable option.

Australian bowler attack is more often than not very strong, he could bring himself on sparingly when needed to bowl, just like Alan Border, Michael Clarke and Steve Smith to give his main strike bowlers a rest or they're looking for another alternative to get a wicket.

It's not something that's new to previous captains and as a captain they put the team before themself.

The whole concept of it is pretty dumb. If they want this event then it should be an actual test world cup played over a month.

He needs to move on from it and appreciate that he’s back in the Test Team despite his indiscretion, and form!
Its like someone whinging they didn't get a promotion. And add wifey into it as well.

Sooner he fcks off the better.

Good to see he’s leaving on his terms.

Love him or hate him, you can’t deny his service to the Australian Test team.

Thanks for the memories Dave and hopefully a ton or 2 in the upcoming Ashes series.

So PC has lost the team has he as captain?

I‘m obviously not as knowledgeable as yourself when it comes to cricket. I’m sure you have that baggy green of yours up on display in the pool room.

If he wanted his terms he should have retired two seasons ago from tests.

If he scores a ton it will be over the 6 games in England

Scored a double ton last summer at the MCG.

How about acknowledging his feats rather than being a nark like your boyfriend Cookie.

5 centuries o/s in his entire career.
3 were in one series against the saffas. the other 2 - the Bangas
Last series in England - only got to double figures twice. But 3 ducks.

He's just gunna look an even bigger tool than he already is when he gets dropped. But thats ok - I know two people that will still knob gobble him....

Look everyone is entitled to their opinion. To be honest IMHO I think at the moment he needs to concentrate on scoring some consistent runs at Test level, which he hasn’t done recently. In particular concentrating on the challenge to score them overseas which he has been decidedly average at in his entire career to date. I dare say this should be at the forefront of his mind, rather than planning his swan song, because it may not work out that way unless he scores some meaningful runs.
