Why now how about all the bullshit calls on the dogs?
Even this year the biggest bullshit call against broncos and his dud brother backs him.
Fuck the Sutton family inbred ***** .
What I still don't get is how the fuck do the gayrl decide Sutton is the best man for the job as referee boss?
And allows his cum loving bro to keep his job,
Nepotism at it's finest right there.
Archer was a massive turd, and he was replaced by a walking douche bag, it's as though greenturd and his merryband of ass clowns are deliberately appointing spastics with no clue so there's always a shit call to talk about. There's no such thing as bad press after all :tearsofjoy:

Sack Bernie.

Bring Back Bill Harrigan to run the refs.

Increase the numbers in the Bunker.
Make all refs, when not on games rotate in Bunker duty.

Have 5 refs in the bunker. All sit independently of each other. All see the same feed. All put there decision in independently.

Majority rules!

Get rid of the ref saying Try or no try.

This should eliminate the Howlers!

I heard Harrigan talking to Graham Hughes on radio this PM. He reckons the 1st solution is to go back to one ref which i agree with. His has too many Media commitments to have a crack at Refs boss but has suggested Greg McAllum would be the most ideal.

What i like most about the bunker is that it has exposed the dopes and their dopey calls. The technology has pushed them in the corner and they can't fight their way out. Dont blame the technology.

Agree the Technology is here to stay.

People that are saying get rid of the bunker, are the same people that will blow up deluxe, when the replay shows the decision was wrong.

Unless they want to stop showing replays. The people won’t accept the wrong calls.

The rubbish suggestions from Marty Johns & co. to get rid of the bunker & that people will brush it off as human error and except the decision. Win some, lose some. Shows they are delusional from fans expectations.

Fans want the correct decision. Like it or not the Bunker gets it right a lot more times than not having a bunker would do.

No Way!!
It's bad enough how long it takes now to get a decision, can you imagine how long it would take if all 5 looked at the replay and then tried to negotiate what percentage each will get from one of them having $10K on that game......it would take at least 20-30mins per decision!!

Warning, slightly lengthy read.

I wrote the NRL following our Bronco's game, which included the Isaako knock-on.

Mr Greenberg,
Re: Broncos v’s Bulldogs game last night.
Atrocious refereeing display!
Blatant knock-on, not adjudicated correctly; play on.
Morris interfering with an attacker on a kick; so inconsistent, since many of these are let go each and every match.
I am a lifelong NRL supporter, over 30 years. 10 year paid-up member of my teams’ club, despite residing overseas for that decade.
This is all about to end. Like so many other fans, we are absolutely at our wits ends, not because of teams’ performances. But because of the overtly obvious errors the officials are repeatedly making. And yes, it certainly does appear to favor certain sides, or more accurately phrased “rub of the green against certain teams”.
I implore the NRL to cast their eye over the games contested by Bulldogs teams over the last 5-10 years and show me one referee who’s worse than the record we hold under the officiation of Gerrard Sutton.
Is the NRL going to defend their lead referee this time? Will the NRL come out and issue a notice to him based on his below par performance? Is the NRL going to reaffirm to Bulldogs fans that the Bronco’s were perfect in terms of discipline in the second half?
These issues need to be addressed! NRL you are fast losing your die-hard fan base. And once we are gone we are never returning.
Best,
~c

Hi C,
Thank you for your email to Todd.
There is never going to be total agreement on all refereeing decisions. We appreciate your feedback but the referees are highly trained, they know the rules and they work very hard to enforce them fairly and consistently in difficult, high-pressure situations. You are perfectly entitled to disagree with certain refereeing decisions but it is wrong to suggest that their decisions would be influenced by any consideration other than what they thought was the appropriate ruling at the time.
Rest assured, they are reviewed comprehensibly and are held accountable for mistakes as you would expect. They undergo a review of their performance after each and every game and some can and do get dropped from first grade officiating. A number of officials have been demoted this season due to performance.
For a further explanation of the decision featuring player Isaako, please see the link below.
https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/05/04/refs-boss-defends-isaako-ruling/
For escorts, it will not be considered an obstruction if a defending player moves directly towards the ball and takes up a position prior to the ball being caught. It will be considered an infringement if a player who arrives at the same time and obstructs him deliberately or deliberately runs an opponent of the ball.
The reality is that refereeing is one of those areas that is never going to be completely free of controversy and debate.
That said, we will continue to monitor the feedback from clubs, players and fans to ensure we can continue to improve the standard of officiating in Rugby League. We will ensure your feedback is registered.
Thanks again for taking the time to write to us and we hope you continue your long standing support of Rugby League.
Kind regards
Robert

Yeah cool Robert,
Two months needed to reply?!
And you close with “Thanks again for taking the time to write to us and we hope you continue your long standing support of Rugby League.”
Funnily enough NRL and their referees in a spot of bother again given Matt Ceccin’s comms with the bunker during Warriors Panthers game.
This game and its administration and officiating were becoming a joke years ago. Now it’s tired and boring.
Such a disappointment. No guesses for why the jewel in the crown, State of Origin, has failed to sell out for a second time in Brisbane tomorrow and viewing numbers have dropped across the board.

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/gr...s-axe-poised-over-sutton-20180723-p4zt5k.html

23 July 2018 — 6:38pm

NRL boss Todd Greenberg has told his besieged referees they have to improve immediately as the axe threatens to fall on the match officials involved in the calamitous Sharks and Raiders clash last Friday night.

Fairfax Media understands the game's no.1 whistleblower Gerard Sutton, who officiated in all three State of Origin clashes this year, could be banished to a low-profile match this weekend when the referee appointments are finalised on Tuesday.

Touch judge Rick MacFarlane, who incorrectly raised his flag in the lead-up to a controversial Cronulla try, is tipped to lose his spot with the fate of NRL bunker officials Luke Patten and Henry Perenara also uncertain after green lighting a crucial Sione Katoa four-pointer.

It comes on the same day Greenberg quizzed referees bosses about the confidence levels in the ranks of the NRL officials before telling them they "had to be better" in the finals run-in.

"I'm frustrated sometimes, really frustrated," Greenberg said on Monday. "We should be getting those decisions [in the Sharks-Raiders game] right. They impact games and they impact livelihoods.

"The simple answer is our referees and our match officials will get lots of good support, but they've got to improve their performance. We've got to own our problems ... and we've got to be better.

"[And] I don't want to see one fan turned away from the game. That's my absolute utmost priority."

Sutton is set to be the first casualty with his brother, referees boss Bernard, tipped to assign him to a game with limited finals implications despite accusations of nepotism in the whistleblower ranks.

"I hear that nepotism word, but what I can tell you on the inside [is] probably the person hardest on his brother is the coach," Greenberg told Channel Nine.

"Gerry had an unbelievably strong State of Origin series. He's one of our very best referees, but like players sometimes people are going to make errors. We've got to continue to help them improve their performance.

"You can take it as read some of those appointments [for round 20] will reflect that disappointment. There has to be accountability - that's across all levels - including me. And there has to be accountability taken [on Tuesday]."

Greenberg also staunchly defended the role of the multi-million dollar bunker, denied allegations too many people were meddling with on-field officials during the course of a game and urged the referees to keep their self belief as he shared responsibility for the fallout.

Fans and commentators have lamented the stop-start affairs of NRL matches this year, littered with penalty blitzes and video referrals. But Greenberg remains unapologetic about technology's role in the game.

"It's certainly not time to blow up the bunker," he said. "Technology is here, technology is now in every sport. The challenge we have is the human element running the technology.

"We need technology to continue to improve the sport. It will continue to help our sport and it is helping our sport. But it comes down the absolute human error of those people making decisions."

But they found an unlikely ally in stand-in Rabbitohs captain Sam Burgess, who himself has drawn the ire of referees on several occasions this year.

He was caught up an imbroglio with former teammate Robbie Farah during South Sydney's shock loss to the Wests Tigers last Saturday night, arguing he shouldn't have been penalised and placed on report for a hit on his teammate just a few weeks ago.

"It is one of the hardest jobs in the world," Burgess said. "I think the more we talk about it the harder it gets for them.

"We’re all saying we want the game tidied up. but that means more penalties. We want free flowing, [but] it is hard. Me, as a player, I want to get on with the game and for it to be adjudicated as fairly as possible. They are pretty good."

So pretty much a summary:
Greenberg "We'll take action by dropping Gerard Sutton from a game that can impact a team in finals contention, to another game where he still gets paid, and the fans still cop fuck ups and shitty calls".

Fuck me this **** just DOES NOT GET IT.... and yet he doesn't want a single fan walking away from the game.

He's lost the plot of focussing on the wrong thing. NO team should be disadvantaged by a shitty ref.

One Warning = Dropped and don't do it again.
Second Warning = Dropped for a month and fix your issues or else.
Third Warning = SACKED.
