IMHO he's is not medically up to it, after all he is 67. Bennett is the old guy at 69, Bellamy is 10 years younger at 59 and Robinson is 42. As a comparison Holbrook is 43, not that age is everything in coaching..

Sheens, Anderson... we need to look at the next breed of coaches, not those that were top coaches back when Tina Turner's Simply The Best was the codes anthem.

I don't think his heart can deal with the stress.

No way! He was cooked in his last few years coaching imagine what he's like 10 years later!

There's way to many changes in the game year to year to bring in any coach that has had more then a couple of years out of coaching.

Absolutely not, we just have to wait and get a proven coach, no point going from bad to bad or bad to worse and having the same thing all over again.

People are quick to criticise Dean Pay. Hes going OK. Its the players who are not putting in.
Theres no need to change coach. We need to get some players who can perform, unlike the lot we have now.

You get man managers and one of the top experienced coaches like Bennett when you're a finals team that can't get over the hurdle to win a premiership. They get the best out of rep players and talent because they're used to coaching those players.

We have very few rep players and little talent to speak of anymore so those coaches won't come, or the experienced coaches you could get, you don't want as they've already been fired from numerous clubs, usually with good reason.

A younger coach with an attacking philosophy with a young squad is what is required to get the best out of them. Someone with modern tactics and ideas, who can nurture, relate to and get the best out of players and who has an eye for talent, not plodders and a team full of workers.

People bagging Fittler’s club coaching record are way off the mark. He took a dog average Roosters side to 4th place in 2008. They had no right to be there.
He was sacked less than 12 months later.

The next coach could very well be an Anderson .. Chris and Lynnes son - Ben Anderson..

I still doubt the Andersons will sack Pay this year regardless of results..

I get what you’re saying but I’m not sure old hard headed coaches work well anymore with the entitled, whinging generation of young players and islander players. Good man managers with a tactical nous seem to work best as a head coach and bring in assistants to work on specifics
Have you met Bellamy?

Its a safe bet Anderson won't coach the team. Having the Anderson's around the club is a good thing, they know what success is. They have been apart of plenty of different clubs with a winning culture. The were also the team that built the storms foundations. We need a coach who can work with them to bring us back, we need recruitment to match the goals. We need players coming from good cultured clubs to assist in changing our culture.

We have had 5-6 yrs of ordinary results and the losing culture is in our DNA atm. The only way to fix it is to recruit and make tough decisions to let players go who are use to the losing culture. Our handicap atm is the cap situation we just can't buy quality players.

Sad to say its going to be a long road back. If results on the field don't improve this year then Pay has to go. I would go with some one like Flanagan if available, he is close to the Andersons and has a good record.
