Not a ciraldo fan boy. But he is a defensive coach there, and panthers do play a solid form a defence. You'd never pick Cleary, Luai, To'o, Crichton etc as elite defenders, but as a team they are very difficult to crack. Barrett was supposed to be the one to "unlock" panthers attack but they lost a grand final because they chocked in the first half before coming back strong.
There might not be much between Ciraldo or Barrett. But one thing is for sure he (Ciraldo) has been in the panthers system for the best part of a decade and Gus had a lot to do with his development. And its not just as a football brain but in business, in people management etc. He might be a bigger flop then Barrett (that will be hard to imagine) but one thing that is sure, he has been developed to a level that most assistance would not have experienced. That wont make you a great coach, but it certainly doesnt hurt your chances.
