What is the hype with Ciraldo? Barrett came from the same system and had FG coaching experience yet failed…I trust Gus to make right choice.
This is my thoughts also. Some coaches are great assistant coaches but being head coach is a totally different thing. So many don’t have it and the hype around Ciraldo for mine is a worry.

Remember last time we signed a so called "genius behind Panthers coaching".

Gus already said we are after an established coach. The club cannot afford to take anymore gambles on rookie coaches, the fans would crucify them if it failed.

Its all about the support and getting the right assistant coaches to help them.

Not a ciraldo fan boy. But he is a defensive coach there, and panthers do play a solid form a defence. You'd never pick Cleary, Luai, To'o, Crichton etc as elite defenders, but as a team they are very difficult to crack. Barrett was supposed to be the one to "unlock" panthers attack but they lost a grand final because they chocked in the first half before coming back strong.

There might not be much between Ciraldo or Barrett. But one thing is for sure he (Ciraldo) has been in the panthers system for the best part of a decade and Gus had a lot to do with his development. And its not just as a football brain but in business, in people management etc. He might be a bigger flop then Barrett (that will be hard to imagine) but one thing that is sure, he has been developed to a level that most assistance would not have experienced. That wont make you a great coach, but it certainly doesnt hurt your chances.
