Great post Mr I, same applies to Mr intelligence ( BAA ) If my memory serves me correct Turvey could not even
handle the CEO position after the Salary cap fiasco either.
Other than Mortimer or the speculating Media, who else with substance such as another currant board member has confirmed that the Board is unhappy?
Because if it's in the media, everyone must be in agreeance eh?

It's easier to blame the coach than your mate the CEO and yourself.

The other board members aren't idiots. If Mortimer wants to face the firing squad for blabbing negatively to the media (and it's not the first or second time this season is happened), then so be it.

It's far easier to replace a board member / CEO than a head coach.

And it's either that or we will end up with a situation that rivals manlys Penn's VS everyone situation. Or their delmerge situation.

So you are blaming then board for giving the coach everything he has asked for in his pick of staff, facilities, players and equipment and it's their fault? He has had complete control and failed to deliver a consistently competitive team which you would expect of a coach being payed over a million a year with a massive football budget to boot. How you can manage to deflect this onto the board is ridiculous, yes the board is to blame for letting it go this far but for anyone besides Des to take responsibility is absolute bullshit whatever way you want to spin things.

So you saying Steve is blaming the coach when really it's the CEO fault that we are a shit house team in almost every aspect of the game. From fitness to execution. Seriously lol.
But regardless of what you think or say, des will get the sack this Friday.

While I disagree with you about keeping Des, if punting the CEO gets Des to coach the team with a proper attacking structure, and the players follow him again and put in 100%, I'll accept it.

But that's a pretty big "if"...

If Turvey still had his faculties, he would not be saying these things in the media. Poor bloke is unwell and shouldn't be allowed to talk to the media. Its no help. He needs to resign from both Boards to be honest.

Turvey needs a lesson in confidentiality, it is absolutely unprofessional for a board member to discuss the agenda of board meetings to the public - look what it has done it has turned the club into prey for the media. These decision no matter which way they go should be made swiftly and confidentially. Part of the big problem with footy clubs is the ancient old school boards that have no idea of the impact of their comments on the media because the media scrutiny didn't exist back in their time.

This is not a comment on what decision should be made it is simply a comment on the conduct of the board (or one board member in particular). Could you imagine public company board members discussing board meeting agendas with the media?

What a load of rubbish......Turvey is the Canterbury "Bulldogs".......a great player and captain. He & Baa know that Hasler doesn't get it, the guy is still "Manly' at heart.

Mr I is getting his informatin from "the greatest" who has the worst track record of any poster on this site, so i wouldnt take anything from it, it is all here say.
the fact that the board put the top4 clause in his contract is proof they want him gone from the club.
Do you have proof tyhat there will be a top 4 clause in des's contract or are you like a lot of others ASSUMING??

Bullshit. Leaking to the media was what needed to be done to instigate change. People should be thanking Turvey (and Baa) for being genuine dogs people who feel the same pain we are feeling.

Turvey deserves no criticism for genuinely caring about this club, speaking from the heart and not regurgitating the same PR bullshit. It is Turvey approaching the media that has forced the club to deal with this issue rather than continuing to sweep it under the rug and draw things out.

Fans should be thanking the guy for genuinely caring about the club and instead we have people saying he should shut the fuck up....as if he hasn't earned the right to an opinion....and defending Hasler and the board or administrative members who apparently don't want him to be held accountable.

Let's support the coach who doesn't get our club and the people who don't want him to be accountable over one of our greatest legends whose passion is clear to see.

Great. Fucking. Logic....

Not!

Although it sounds terrible and people are panicking but it's the best time to see who cares about the club. I back Turvey for sure!

To the insiders saying the board don't want him gone, you may be right. But board members are also idiots if that's the case.

Turvey is right and I'll take his passion over board members tendency to hide behind closed doors and not make themselves accountable to fans any day.

Turvey represents the opinion of most fans I think. About time someone at the club thought of us.

You really need to lay off the crack pipe..... Mortimer fell on his sword as the NRL wanted it's pound of flesh for what happened at Coffs. Anyone that knows Turvey or knew him at the time would have seen how much him resigning cut him . Folkes cost us Thurston end of story. Go back to your delusional referee theories
Correct!!

Look pal, I am not his doctor but he is unwell. He should be more professional than discussing board issues in the media. Of course he's Bulldogs at heart but if he had his wits about him, he wouldn't be airing these grievances and threats in public.

Why makes you want to back Mortimer S? interested to know why thats all?
That's okay. As a long distance fan like you "Qld-dog" I don't have inside info and just go off everything I read etc. So as a disclaimer I know I have to try a pick through the shite that is written. But I have had the honour of meeting Turvey and had a really nice conversation with the fella. He didn't have to offer his time and he was out for the night at the Casino in Brissie. He did and I formed a very high regard for him and in talking about the doggies with him I know where his heart is at. So at a time when everything is being ripped in different directions I will back the person that I know LOVES the club with passion.
