NRL Transfer Market: Penrith Panthers’ Brent Naden set to join Bulldogs
Penrith didn’t want to lose him, but gun centre Brent Naden is set to leave the foot of the mountains.

Panthers centre Brent Naden is set to quit the club, rejecting interest from Wests Tigers and Parramatta to sign a two-year deal with Canterbury.
His acquisition will continue an impressive build up for 2022 at the Bulldogs.
And it means Canterbury’s backline next season will include Naden, Josh Addo-Carr, Matt Burton, Nick Cotric and Kyle Flanagan.
Naden’s defection to Belmore isn’t yet official but The Daily Telegraph has been told the deal is close to being finalised.

Penrith didn’t want to lose him — and interest from Wests Tigers was genuine — but Naden has a close relationship with Bulldogs coach Trent Barrett.
And Naden is also mates with Jack Hetherington, the former Panther now at Canterbury.
Parramatta also entered the chase for Naden.
Penrith was keen to retain Naden but has a bulging salary cap. The Panthers will only spend carefully for the next few years given their star-studded line-up has been nailed down for the next two to three years.
Naden escaped with a paltry $5000 fine for using cocaine on the night before last year’s grand final.
But he has yet to feature in the Panthers’ NRL side this year after
starting the season in reserve grade in a self-imposed decision designed to earn back the respect of his teammates. He then suffered an injury and his spot was taken by new signing Paul Momirovski, while Burton has also emerged as a starting centre.
